This time of year is bittersweet, I’m ready for a break but sad to say goodbye to all of the flowers and colour that have brought me immense joy this summer.
Time to label the dahlias.. I have around 130 plants, which is nothing compared to some growers but the labelling task is still a feat.
Soon it will be time to dig them up and prep the tubers for storage and that in itself is a bit exciting, to see what each plant has produced and will be able to share with others and expand our dahlia patch.
Cornel Bronze in all her glory
Hoping these babies give me plenty of tubers for next year because come on… look at this perfect flower
The prettiest fall palette in my opinion
Copper Boy is a funny one. I had SO many tubers and what didn’t sell I just threw in the ground and ended up with far more plants than I wanted and for most of the summer I was very meh towards them.. BUT, the minute September hit, I was reaching for them every time and leaving this here as a reminder to my 2027 season self to keep them all because wow!!
Another farmstand day for the books
