Pitmaster pastor….

Southgate Church in Kemptville has been so great to us and our charity barbecue, lending us their bouncy castle to not only put smiles on the kids faces but also to keep smiles on the faces of their parents in line!

This past weekend we had a chance to invite Southgate’s own Pitmaster Pastor Kevin by to cook on our Bogline pit for their yard sale. He didn’t skip a beat, hopped right in and had the crowds smiling with pulled pork and brisket cooked over hickory and cherry wood. Over $12,000 was raised to send kids to camp this summer!

It was tough cooking conditions with the massage chairs and beautiful sun, but we got through it together.

10th annual charity barbecue update!!

This is the smile of a guy who’s lucky enough to give back to veterans, and thank the people who support them. It’s as real as it gets.

This weekend we loaded up the Bogline Pit and put together a meal for the staff and residents at Veterans House Canada, along with the crew from Riders for Veterans who spent the day planting their garden.

We met incredible people, shared a pile of gratitude, and served up a 10/10 meal to go with it.

This doesn’t happen without you.

Each of you that have purchased Battlefield Barbecue products have helped make days like this possible.

As we grow, this stays at the core of what we do. You have my word.

More meals. More support. More reasons to fire up the Bogline for something bigger.

After meeting the folks at The Butcher Block we were inspired to cook, and we kept it local. Real local.

Our town’s growing fast, changing in all kinds of ways. But the good stuff is still right here. The places that have been doing it right for years, and the new ones showing up with something to prove. B&H Grocers, thecrustybakers , kemptvillebrewingco are all within a few minutes of each other, all worth the stop.

We grabbed some beautiful steaks, fresh produce, proper bread, buffalo cheese… and a couple cold pints for the cook.

Nothing over the top fancy. Just steak sammies done right.

With the price of gas these days, how lucky are we are to have this kind of quality close to home?

You don’t have to go far to find something great.
