Thanks to everyone who reached out yesterday to wish me well on the start of my 56th year of life. That sounds so crazy to say out loud because I still feel 20. Except when I try to get up off the floor. Or sit down on the floor. Maybe I should just stay off the floor? My day started with a quiet "happy birthday" from the bestie at 6am, followed by more of that from the bestie fam, then a birthday call from Ben first thing, then the annual/traditional song message from Jessi McEwen... and then many many more amazing messages, calls, and cards including a beautiful, heartfelt message from Nick. The day wrapped up with dinner and cake with Mark and Mamo, and then the season premiers of Chicago One shows. THAT is when I feel old... happily curled up at 8pm in my jammies, eagerly watching a dumb tv show. As I do every year, I took time to think about and be thankful for all the guides and friends who didn't make it to this particular milestone. This is why I insist on celebrating birthdays... we’re still here! There are still waaaaaaaayyy too many people who I have loved who have gone before making it to 55, but this past year has been different.... lots and lots of terrible diagnoses (particularly cancer), but many of those folks are doing well! Not all - but more than usual. So today I'm very grateful for that. I'm still throwing as much hopeful, healing energy into the Universe as I can as my wish for this year. I’ve still got the BEST friends anyone could hope for, and I know I don’t deserve you, but I’m very thankful. Here’s to being closer to 60 than 50!! Thanks all!
