Finnegan's Jam

Finnegan's Jam Finnegan Chandler is 9 years old and with help from his family and local farm partners he picks berries and makes strawberry, blueberry and raspberry jam.

Made from freshly picked berries from Prince Edward Island farms. Finnegan Chandler was just 4 years old when one summer afternoon he picked more strawberries than he could eat. His family later helped him turn those berries into jam and he went and sold his jam to his grandparents. Later that day he got to go to the store and buy toys with the money he made. He immediately decided he wanted to make more jam. Now at 8 years old, Finnegan makes and sells strawberry, raspberry and blueberry jam. With help from his family, he picks and stems the berries, adds sugar and lemon and then labels each jar. He has developed partnerships with Storehouse Farms, Compton’s Farms, and the PEI Blueberry Association as well as retail distribution through Bottle Houses in Wellington. He has had social media endorsements from Anna Rossi (Master Chef finalist) and Crystal Gilmore (Canadian Olympian) and also appeared on CBC News. Every year Finnegan divides his profits between a charitable donation to KidSport PEI, toys and his savings account. Thank you for your support of this young, hard working Island entrepreneur.

Finnegan is excited to be invited as the guest speaker for Week 4 of the "Tales to Trails" course with the Seniors College of Prince Edward Island. The course takes place on October 30 from 10-11:30am at the Stratford Emergency Services Centre. He's not sure he can talk that long, but if it means a day off of school, he's willing to give it a shot!

He'll be speaking with his Dad and may even be bringing a few bottles of jam with him. Over 80 members have already signed up, and he invites all members to join him as he shares his young entrepreneur story with you. Thank you so much for the invitation!

Rankin was done making apple jelly this year, but there’s still an abundance of apples available, so when she got a message from Come To The Table PEI asking for some she made a few more. Rankin knows a good partnership when she sees it!

Finnegan and Rankin were pretty excited to have their jam and jelly included in a PEI gift basket presented to Arlene Dickinson during her visit to PEI. From two hard working entrepreneurs to another - they hope you enjoy!

WAIT! Did we miss something? Last year Finnegan had ONE customer suggest making rhubarb jam. He never forgot it and insisted giving it a try. It allowed him to open a month earlier than usual and launch three new flavours, selling hundreds of more jam from one customer comment. But wait - did we miss something else?

If you have a jam flavour not already listed below that you just LOVE, drop it in the comment section below and if we get enough requests for it...who knows...it might just be in the stand next year!

September Employee of the Month - Daddy! If you saw Finnegan this summer, chances are you saw his Dad right there with him. They’re as thick as thieves and there’s no place Dad would rather be than watching his kids thrive.

Finnegan made him some cool 3D prints on his new printer he bought with some of his jam money and took Dad out for supper as a thank you for all his work this summer. Congratulations Dad!

RASPBERRY! They’re slow to pick and fast to sell, but Finnegan held on to 100 bottles of delicious raspberry jam to sell in his stand for his final weekend of the season.

His 6 year old sister was also busy in the orchards picking apples, measuring sugar, squeezing lemons and sticking labels for her tasty Apple Jelly.

Both in the stand until they sell out. 3211 County Line Road in Emerald. 250ml bottle for $6. Come and get some before they’re gone!

FINNEGAN HAS A SECRET! He’s all out of jam and will be closing his stand in the next few days, BUT he held back 100 bottles of the most requested and popular flavour of jam he makes and will have it in the stand Saturday morning. Any guesses what flavour it is?

Rankin’s Apple Jelly is available today and will also be available until close. She’s THIS close to becoming a 6 year old thousandaire! THANK YOU!
