STORIES WRITTEN IN STONE.

Across Kitasoo Xai’xais territory, stories live in the land, the waters... And even in stone.

Ancient petroglyphs can be found along the shoreline, often near old village sites. Some are recognizable and connect with traditional stories while others remain a mystery.

They are reminders that Klemtu is more than a beautiful place. It is a place rich in history, culture and stories passed through generations.

Come to Klemtu. Walk gently, listen closely and discover the stories held throughout the territory. And when you encounter pieces of history like these, admire and respect them where they belong.

Klemtu Spirit begins with Canadian Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar) — a species prized for its rich flavour and naturally tender texture.

Atlantic salmon is the most commonly cultivated salmon species in British Columbia.
