It’s funny how often the things that come naturally to us don’t feel special - until we realize they’re not something everyone can do.

My daughter was worried she didn’t have a talent for the school talent show. Then she realized she’s been learning to milk goats. 🐐🥛

Sometimes your talent is hiding in plain sight.

She was so proud of herself. ❤️

And a special shout-out to her amazing teacher for allowing students to submit videos of their talents. It created an opportunity for all kinds of kids to shine! ✨

Making more of my favourite foliage shrubs is a major goal of mine this year. I’m using various propagation techniques from softwood cuttings to layering to multiply my existing plants, while I dream of a cutting field of shrubbery 🌿🥰

The irises and ninebark foliage making the colour connections in this one…😍🥰

Hope you enjoy watching the process of making a spring garden bouquet with seasonal flowers. 🌿

Funny how the field feels a little tidier, a little brighter, and a whole lot easier to work in after a good mow. 🌱✨

Off they go! 🚗🌸

Pretty spring jars packed up for a ride in the van - cheerful, sweet, and a little rustic, a reflection of the flower farm at this moment.

Every day the harvest buckets feel a little different, which is one of my favourite parts of growing flowers - each bloom the sweetest because it doesn’t stay.

What’s blooming where you are right now?

My pyjama girl helped me harvest a favourite spring filler out in the field: Alchemilla mollis or ‘Lady’s Mantle’. Such a gorgeous lime-green and frothy texture!

She’s got the pro-grower football hold down pat too 😄

This has been a bit of an experimental year for me since I wasn’t able to start seeds indoors the way I normally do 🌱

So instead, I winter sowed cold hardy annuals and perennials in milk jugs, and I’ve been really impressed with the results.

The germination hasn’t been 100%, but for some crops it has been amazing. It saved me so much time seeding trays, growing indoors for weeks, and hardening everything off later - and for starting many of my perennials especially, I’m sold on this method.

Now many of these little seedlings are heading straight from the jugs into the flower field. ✨

It still feels a little wild to me that so many future flowers started outside in the middle of winter 🤍

Have you tried this? What did you think??
