As we look back through the year, we realized that we haven’t posted much. It’s had its ups and downs from losing our dad. who built Fairgrove farms with his brother until 1995 when he passed away. He continued to run the farm with us till September 19, 2024. With all the rain this year it delayed spring planting and made haying little difficult. But the rain did bring on some of the best corn and soybean yields we’ve had. hopefully this year will be a good year for everyone and hopefully we can update everyone a little more often this year.

Like Ricky Bobby said if you ain’t first you’re last, but it was nice to see both of our entries that made it to the Ottawa Valley farm show place in the top 10.

Tonight was a special night for Fairgrove Farms. Dad received his 50 year pin for registering purebred cattle and being a member with Holstein Canada .

Yesterday was Canada Day we hope everyone had a fun and safe day. Yesterday we cut our oats a little early. It’s one of those years for oats. A big rain right after planting made it a little thin and not much rain to make it grow after. but the new seeding alfalfa looks good in the bottom and was going to be taller then the oats by harvest in a month. Heifers eat good this winter

First cut haylage. very impressed with the new seeding this year. Quality Seeds 80/20 mix. 80% dominator alfalfa and 20% haymax grass mix

Finished soybeans Sunday morning. planted the last cornfield today. on to Haylage
