| 🇨🇦 82nd Anniversary of D-Day
🍁 Of the 156,000 Allied soldiers who landed or parachuted that day, 14,000 were Canadian. On June 6 alone, 381 Canadian soldiers lost their lives. The Normandy Campaign would last ten weeks and cost Canada over 18,000 casualties, including approximately 5,500 killed.
🌺 Today, most of these heroes rest in the military cemeteries of Bény-sur-Mer / Reviers and Cintheaux / Bretteville-sur-Laize.
🙏 They have rested in Normandy for 82 years, on the land they helped to liberate so that freedom could live on. We remember.
