Wow!

Rotterdam’s floating farm is a pioneering example of sustainable urban agriculture, designed to operate entirely on water. Situated in the city’s Merwehaven port, it is built on a multi-level platform that produces fresh dairy products, primarily milk from cows, right in the heart of the city. By locating food production close to consumers, it reduces transportation emissions and ensures fresher produce for urban residents.

The farm also incorporates a closed-loop waste recycling system. Organic waste from the city, such as grass clippings from parks and leftover produce from markets, is used as animal feed. Manure is processed into natural fertilizer, completing the cycle. Solar panels provide renewable energy, ensuring minimal carbon footprint. Water from the harbor is purified and used on-site, demonstrating efficient resource use. Rotterdam’s floating farm not only addresses urban space constraints but also showcases how cities can integrate food production, waste management, and clean energy into a single, sustainable system.

Hey everyone! I often get questions at my Microgreens farm about the top ways to use Microgreens so below I have listed a few of the ways I use them daily!

• In my Sandwiches
• In a Smoothie
• To make Guacamole
• To make Pesto
• In a Salad
• In a Bowl of Soup
• I also eat them on their own
• Honestly ANYWHERE haha

Hi my fellow Maple Ridge locals! I wanted to share something with you that I think might be helpful to some people.

I am a busy person like so many of you in this group. And over the last 4 months I have been growing & delivering fresh, locally grown, organic microgreens in the Maple Ridge area.

This is something I wish was available to me before I started my own farm because there is nothing better than getting super fresh microgreens that are incredibly healthy plus supporting a local business.
