HE THOUGHT HE HATED DOUBLES. THEN HE TRIED OURS. 🇹🇹❤️

One bad experience had him convinced doubles just wasn’t for him.

But doubles holds a special place in a Trini heart. It’s breakfast by the roadside, a little pepper on your fingers, and “gimme two more” when you said you were only having one.

So I encouraged him to give it another chance.

He tried our doubles at Trini Island Cuisine… and loved it. Just like that, his mind changed. 🥹

That moment meant so much to me. When we share Trinidadian food, we’re sharing something we grew up loving. We want you to understand why a simple doubles can make a Trini so happy, especially when we’re miles from home.

This is what sharing authentic Trini food in Canada means to us. Welcoming someone into our culture, one bite and one conversation at a time.

NIAGARA… ALLYUH SHOWED UP! 🇹🇹🔥

What. A. Night.

The place was PUMPING! The music, the energy, the laughter, the dancing, the food… for a few hours, it really felt like we brought a little piece of Trinidad straight to Niagara Falls. ❤️🇹🇹

A huge THANK YOU to Curtis B and DJ Selector Pompey for coming through and bringing the vibes! 🎤🎶🔥

From the moment the music started, the energy changed. People were singing, moving, liming, eating and just enjoying themselves. And THAT is exactly what we wanted.

Trini Island Cuisine was never meant to be just somewhere you come to eat.

We want it to feel like home.
A place to lime.
A place to laugh.
A place to hear our music.
A place to taste the food we grew up with.
A place where Caribbean culture is alive and well right here in Niagara Falls.

And seeing such a GREAT TURNOUT meant more to us than you know. ❤️

To everyone who came out and supported us, THANK YOU. Whether you stayed all night, came for the food, came for the music, brought your friends or simply came to show love, you helped make the night what it was.

THEY NEVER TASTED DASHEEN COOKUP BEFORE. NOW THEY KNOW. 🇹🇹❤️

Two customers tried our dasheen cookup for the very first time. One paired it with stew pork, the other with curry chicken. Both were amazed by the flavours and how good it tasted.

And honestly, that reaction means so much to us.

Because dasheen cookup is the kind of food that brings you right back to a Trini kitchen. A pot bubbling on the stove. Somebody calling you to come and eat. Gravy finding its way into every spoonful.

For some, it’s a memory. For these two, it was a beautiful introduction to the Trinidadian food we grew up loving.

At Trini Island Cuisine, sharing authentic Trini food is how we share a little of ourselves. Our family traditions, our Caribbean cuisine, and that feeling of being welcomed with a good plate of food.

You don’t have to grow up in Trinidad and Tobago to find comfort at our table. There’s room for you too. ❤️

The family talking over one another. Somebody asking for a little more pepper. The familiar flavours that bring back memories of home, even here in Canada.

This Thanksgiving, we’re thanking God for the chance to share a piece of Trinidad with you.

To everyone who has walked through our doors, brought a friend, shared our posts or trusted us to cook for your family, thank you. You’re helping us build something close to our hearts here in Niagara Falls.
