When I’m working with someone newer to herding and stock dogs, often the person can’t quite figure out where to be positioned in relation to the dog and sheep.

Especially when they have a fast moving keen young dog.

This is why I came up with an exercise to make the task easier. I’ve been using it for years and it really seems to help.
