I would like everyone to know that as of today the chickens will no longer have free roam of the countryside. They will be in an outdoor enclosure during the day. We have decided this after going on a second year with little to no real garden. Today they killed off 6 tomato plants by digging them up and laying on them and every day it’s been a fight to keep them out of the strawberries as they want to dig them up and lay on them as well.

Two of our rabbits decided to go into labour on the same day 😫 but the kids are so excited at the thought of babies to play with later.

We have been so busy on the homestead this month with garden expansion, working on the raspberry garden, building a new chicken run and always clearing and cleaning more of the land. Yesterday we brought in someone to prep the front yard so we will be able to work on getting our forever home.

Our sweet silkie Penelope is extremely broody right now. I have no idea how many eggs she has under her but I know that no one wants to be too close to her at this time 😂

I have only been able to collect a total of 7 eggs this week. The girls are still on strike.
