kimchi; oh it’s been so many years since I’ve made kimchi PROPERLY. Shout out to ; I did skip the salted shrimp as I couldn’t find it in store but I think the salt I added in should work okay. Now to let it ferment at room temp for a couple days before it lives in the fridge!

carrot cake muffins with cream cheese frosting. As part of our local cookbook club, we’re gonna be baking Christmas/holiday treats! Thought to try this recipe as it allowed me to use leftover cream cheese frosting from the cinnamon rolls I made earlier. The frosting is more loose compared to what the recipe called for but do I care? Nope.

guajillo chilli marinade. Just a moment for this vibrancy!!!!! Supposed to be made with a mix of lime and OJ for authenticity but I didn’t have any oranges so just squeezed more lime. Froze some for later but AHHHH! Marinated chicken and beef with it. We’ll plan to eat the beef tomorrow in some tacos with guac 😮‍💨

sourdough ciabatta - omg this was such a high hydration dough, which allowed for all these bubbles. So fun! Next time I’ll make a bigger batch. Insides still a bit gummy but it tastes pretty good after a little toast.

sourdough loaves - finding a recipe that works has been a struggle. But I found a Neapolitan pizza dough recipe that works for my loaves too, and apparently cinnamon rolls too lol! I think I can still afford to keep my loaves in longer because I’d like a drier crumb, but still super gratifying in the meantime given the challenges I’ve had with sourdough in the last TWO years LOL

sourdough cinnamon rolls w/ cream cheese vanilla frosting - instead of making one large loaf of bread, I’ve been halving it and trying a new recipe with ~250ish grams of bulk fermented dough. This was PRETTY GOOD for a first try. Andrew made the cream cheese frosting but we struggled with removing the “cheesy” taste. Google said to offset it with more butter and sugar but we didn’t wanna add toooo much more than was already in there. Anyway 10/10 for my first try. Gonna try with a more chocolatey sauce/syrup 🤪

grab n go fudgy peanut butter date bars. lol I don’t eat any of these but instead of us buying Costco $$$ granola bars that usually have some sort of preservative or incomprehensible ingredient(s), I’ve come to make a random batch of oat x dates x almond/cashew butter w/ random mix ins for the week. pork chilli (by mom); loooooks soo good.. basically Hakka food.. I think I’ve had a couple of my fixes satisfied this week (butter chicken, Chinese noodle bowl, sourdough bread). Have a new craving now after this pic!!
