Wednesday field notes:
Mama Chang beans do not like to climb corn stalks.
Tomato house has lots of green tomatoes that should have been on track for harvesting this week, but with the cooler temps, they are taking their time.
Water spinach beds are at the point where we will need to harvest daily.
Snow peas are being terminated this week
Lots of cilantro, so get ready for some hai hai sauce in the fridges.
Swiss chard is thriving, but not a lot being sold at market. Anyone needs rainbow chard?
Cucs are coming in hot!
All the herbs are doing well, especially the Shiso/Perilla. We’ve got green and duo colour.
More Taiwanese cabbage almost at maturity.
G*i lan and cauliflower reserved for 100 Acre Wood
Radish is about to pop.
Bok Choy needs to be harvested and terminated.
Overflow of brassicas, more ferments?
Every Wednesday the field and kitchen crew walks the field together. It helps us stay connected to the land, observe how the weather is affecting the crops, learn the stages of each crop, and influences how we plan for our dinners and potentially new ideas for the take out counter.
