I swear things go from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye around here 😅

A few days ago one of my quail escaped when I was moving them to their new enclosure… it came back around later that day but I couldn’t catch it. Haven’t seen it since now so I’m assuming it’s long gone 😞

Fast forward to today, I’m super happy. Everyone’s coexisting nicely, they’re warming up to me and not as skittish. .

I go to check on them earlier and collect eggs and I find this little girl with her head absolutely mangled! 😵‍💫😓

I brought her inside and cleaned her up and she seems to be doing ok now but holy frig you guys …. What is even happening these days. I’m tired ya’ll. This zoo keeps me on my toes.

Well I was NOT expecting to wake up to chicks this morning 🫣

I put these eggs in lockdown a couple days ago, and then we had a power outage that lasted 3.5 hours so I thought for sure they would have died.

I left them on the off chance that they survived and boy am I glad I did!! 🐣

One chick out this morning and three more eggs pipped with the possibility of the fourth too but I can’t see into the incubator well enough to tell.

Let’s see how it goes!

Have a great Wednesday my friends! ❤️🫶

Good Morning Friends! 💗

This weekend was a busy as we celebrated my middle daughter turning 3! 🫶

I’m struggling to keep up with social media during the summer when it’s this nice outside!

Our days consist of doing things as a family, hanging with our birds and having fun!

I hope everyone is having as good of a summer as we are over here! ☀️

Evening collection 🫶

I had to send my daughter into the coop to get the pullet egg off the floor for me after we chased our escaped hen around for 10 mins 😆

These little quail girlies are earning their keep for sure!! Both of them laid today! 🥚

Nine chicken eggs, 2 quail eggs! I’m pretty happy!
