Good morning, friends! ❤️ It's one of those mornings where caffeine is a must. 🥱

It's still raining, and I know we need it, but it really puts a damper on the things I want to do! ☔️

Chores are nearing completion, breakfast will be on the go, and I have presents to wrap today. 🎁

Well my two male quails were picking on each other which I figured I would happen 🤷‍♀️

There were two females and two males so one of the males went to a new home today on another homestead where I know he’ll live a great life! 💗

Now to grow my covey out! I currently have room for another 3 females in my current hutch! Can’t wait to see what babies I can add in a few weeks! 🐦

Rainy here in Nova Scotia today which means it’s a day to stay inside as much as possible 🥱

The chickens want nothing to do with the rain and the quail are tucked safely in under cover until the rain stops 🐦

These are eggs from my own mixed flock of heritage breeds! 🫶

I should have gotten pictures and videos but my phone was in the bedroom with my sleeping son so I wasn’t risking that LOL

To say I’m excited is an understatement! 💗

There’s something so satisfying about hand raising these birds and seeing them create life and knowing you’ve had a hand in it also! 🥚🥚

We were so preoccupied by having a kid free weekend together, a Father’s Day gift kind of went by the wayside 🫣😆

The kids and I went out today and picked up a smokeless indoor grill, some lotto tickets, & some hot sauce 🌶️

We’re so appreciative of everything he does for us and it never goes unnoticed 💗

Now to have some homemade burgers with fresh ground beef from a family members farm and try out this new grill! 🍔

My absolutely INCREDIBLE husband spent our kid free day in the sun building my quail enclosure for me ❤️

I am beyond thankful for this guy 🫶

The four of them love it! It was immediate dust bath as soon as I got them in there 🥹🥰

At some point we will build onto it as I add to my covey 💗

Good Morning & Happy Sunday! 🫶

A happy Father’s Day to all the awesome Dads out there also ❤️

We were kid free for the night last night for the first time in seven months so we went out on the side by side and didn’t get home until midnight (will be needing 3-5 business weeks to recover 😆)

Today, we’re working on the quail enclosure for my four 5 weekers that keep escaping the brooder! Excited to get them outside! ☀️
