A little update from South Island Pie Co.
After 1.5 wonderful years on 124 Street, our last day at the pie shop will be July 8th.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to come to terms with our landlord on a new lease, so it's time for us to close this chapter and begin a new one.
While we're sad to be leaving the shop, what we'll miss most isn't the space itself — it's all of you.
The regulars who stopped in every week for an Old Faithful. Our customers who tried a New Zealand-style pie for the very first time. The families who made us part of their routine. The people who came in for "just one pie" and left with enough to fill the freezer.
Over the past year and a half, you've helped turn our little pie shop into something truly special. We've shared thousands of hot pies, countless conversations, laughs, stories, and more than a few spirited debates about rugby, hockey, and football.
Every visit, every order, every recommendation to a friend has meant the world to us. Supporting a small local business isn't something we ever take for granted, and we're incredibly thankful for the community that formed around our pies.
The good news? This isn't goodbye.
Long before we opened the pie shop, we were delivering pies directly to homes across Edmonton and Calgary, and that's not changing. You'll still be able to order your favourite pies online and keep your freezer stocked whenever the craving strikes. (Google Uproot Food Store, it's us!)
The shop may be closing, but South Island Pie Co isn't going anywhere.
We're still here, still baking, and still excited to bring our pies to your table.
Before we close the doors, we'd love the chance to see you one more time.
Come by before July 8, grab a hot pie, share a yarn, and help us celebrate all the memories we've made together.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this journey. We couldn't have done it without you, and we're excited to continue serving you in this next chapter.
