Milk, Milk, Milk.
We are swimming in milk!

After I praised Lily for being a “pro” on the milk stand, she is now advising me when she feels she should be done being milked, by trying to lay down on on the milk stand.
Soooo…she gets the bucket under her until she learns this is not the correct choice!

These 3 little boys sure are suction cups. Tina Ayers Taylor hope you like lap goats! They are taking solace in our love while they learn to be away from their mommas. Bop, who is laying on Steve’s lap, is in a full limp noodle nap in the one picture, no hands holding him that way! 😆

This morning I milked my first freshener does. I was beaming! Daffi stood “almost” like a pro, Lily was a pro and Poppy was “almost” a pro. I could have left the leg ties off Lily, but she occasionally still tosses a small kick so I put them on, just to not loose my collected milk.
Daffi and Lily are on day 2 of weaning their bucklings.

Daffi- 2yr old first freshener; 12 hr hold; kidded 8 weeks ago.
✨ 600mls collected
Lily- 2yr old first freshener; 12 hr hold; kidded 7 weeks ago.
✨ 1400mls collected 🤩
Poppy- 2yr old first freshener; zero hold; kidded 3 weeks ago.
✨not measured, just for practice.

Update @ 9pm…

Lily’s total for two milkings today is ✨2️⃣2️⃣5️⃣0️⃣mls ✨!!!!!

I’m so happy with this doe and can’t wait to get Poppy on the milk collection program next week!

Today is the day.
The older baby boys are starting the weaning process. Bop’s weeny was poking out this morning so now they need to be kept separate from their dams and doeling. At least these 3 boys have each other for comfort during this process.
These are my least favourite days of the year. 🫩
