Take a moment and replace Zack's name with your own. Think about what that would mean to your parents, your spouse, your children, your friends, and everyone who cares about you.

This is why we work safe.

As a dispatcher in the Alberta oilsands helping oversee a crew of more than 250 people, I cannot stress this enough: nothing we do is worth a life. Production targets, schedules, and deadlines can all wait.

If a task doesn't feel right, stop. Ask questions. Get help. You have the right to refuse unsafe work.

Everyone deserves to go home at the end of their shift.

Please work safe. Someone is waiting for you to come home.
