Every season brings something different.

This spring tested us in ways we never expected, and now summer seems determined to keep us guessing with rain after rain.

But standing out here, watching the herd under a dramatic prairie sky, it's hard not to appreciate how beautiful this life really is—even when the forecast isn't exactly what we're hoping for. ❤️

Most of this photo session was all about the animals... as it should be. ❤️

We have so many beautiful photos to share from this session over the coming weeks and months, but this one seemed like the perfect place to start.

Something many of you may not know is that Greg and I are actually engaged.

He proposed while we were visiting my parents in Newfoundland. We had spent the day exploring Twillingate and hiked out to Devil's Cove. It was one of those perfect Newfoundland days that we'll remember forever, and I honestly can't imagine a more beautiful place to have said yes.

The last couple months has reminded us how precious life is and how important it is to hold the people you love a little closer. Through every joy, every heartbreak, every challenge, Greg has been right beside me. Adalon Farms simply wouldn't exist without him.

Tomorrow is another big day for us.

Legacy comes home.

And after everything that's happened, it feels like we're finally taking a small step into a new chapter.

Thank you, Fran, for capturing these moments so beautifully. We can't wait to share more of them with everyone. ❤️

River is growing up far too quickly. ❤️

At just over two months old, he's starting to lose that tiny baby look and turn into a handsome young c**t. He's getting taller every week, and I have a feeling he's going to be a big boy when he's finished growing.

His roan pattern is becoming more obvious every day too. Watching those white hairs slowly spread through his coat has been so much fun.

Personality-wise, he's exactly what you'd expect from River... bold, curious, and always looking for something to investigate (or someone to bother! 😅). He approaches life with so much confidence, and it's been a joy to watch him learn.

This handsome little guy will be looking for his own pasture to call home at weaning this fall. We're excited to watch him keep growing, but we'd also love to find the perfect family for his next adventure. ❤️

It turned into an absolutely gorgeous day... and I spent most of it indoors making cheese. 😂

With almost 9 gallons of fresh milk waiting in the fridge, there wasn't much choice! The result was a big wheel of Colby and enough fresh mozzarella for several pizza nights.

Twister and Echo soaked up the sunshine while I worked, and seeing them wander in this evening reminded me how lucky we are.

Horses, fresh milk, homemade cheese, and a farm to care for... it's a lot of work, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. ❤️

One of my favourite things about goats is how they choose to be with you. ❤️

We gave them a bigger pasture to graze, but every time we arrive they come running to greet us and es**rt us out to the field.

They're curious, opinionated, and just a little bit convinced they're in charge. 🐐😂

Poor Rain. 🤣❤️

Being a big sister is hard work.

River has recently decided that the best way to spend his day is by biting Rain's hocks, rearing up at her, and generally being the most annoying little brother he can possibly be. So far, Rain has shown remarkable patience... although I have a feeling she's getting closer to reminding him that she is, in fact, the older sibling.

Meanwhile, Ida has apparently decided she's off duty and is happily grazing in the background while Rain babysits. Thanks, Mom. 😅

It's funny because River doesn't pester Lola or Diva nearly as much. Nope... this seems to be reserved exclusively for his big sister.

The best part is that once he's finished being a complete nuisance, he'll usually wander over looking for scratches and affection as if he hasn't done anything wrong.

Classic little brother behavior.

I'm pretty sure Rain deserves a raise. ❤️🐴🤣

Lola has always had a soft spot for foals. ❤️

Even though she's unquestionably the boss mare around here, she has a way of taking the youngsters under her wing. She keeps them in line, teaches them how to be horses, and somehow always ends up babysitting the next generation.

This is Lola with Diva as a baby, and she adored her.

But don't let that fool you... apparently there's an expiration date on motherhood. 😂

When Aslan was weaned, Lola went away for a month of training. When she came home, he was absolutely over the moon to see his mom again. He trotted right over, so excited...

Lola's response?

She pinned her ears, kicked at him, and made it very clear that he was a big boy now. The look of devastation on his face was equal parts heartbreaking and hilarious. 💔🤣

Thankfully, Echo stepped in and became his buddy, because his mama had officially retired from the parenting business.

Lola may not have much patience for her own grown-up son, but every new foal that comes along still seems to find a protector in her. ❤️

Some stories don't begin the way we hoped they would. But thanks to one very special mare, this little filly has been given the chance to grow, thrive, and come home. ❤️

This weekend, Legacy and Moxie will be joining us at Adalon Farms, and we couldn't be more excited.

There are still many firsts ahead for Legacy, and we're so looking forward to sharing them with all of you. Thank you for following her journey and cheering her on every step of the way.

The countdown is on... welcome home, girls. 🥰🐴

Home again. ❤️🐄

Our Jesse girl is finally back where she belongs, and that means our dairy adventures can continue! Fresh milk, homemade yogurt, cheese, butter... and everything else that comes from having this wonderful girl as part of our family.

A huge thank you to Becki for taking care of Jesse while she was away. We truly appreciate everything she did for her.

After her trip home, Jesse definitely deserved a spa day! She walked right off the trailer, straight up to the house so we could give her a warm bath, and stood there like the sweet, patient girl she is. She didn't mind the water one bit, and she even let our granddaughter help with bath time. Watching the two of them together melted my heart. ❤️

She's settling back in beautifully, enjoying fresh grass, plenty of groceries, and getting back into her familiar routine. I'm happy to report she's already almost back to her pre-vacation milk production! More importantly, she seems happy to be home.

Welcome home, Jesse. We missed you. 🥛🧀🧈💕
