Axolager Lime from Fine Balance is a 4.4% Mexican lager made with fresh lime. My son loves axolotls. I had to buy this to show him the can; and joke that it was brewed with fresh axolotl. 🤪 He’s 10, so he didn’t try any. Me, I drank the whole can! It was super lime-y and refreshing in the summer heat.

Cameron’s Strawberry Milkshake IPA is a 6.6% milkshake IPA brewed with ripe strawberries and Barb Rouge hops. The strawberries here still taste ripe, right from the can. It’s super fruity with hints of vanilla. Strawberry smoothie vibes are so strong her that it’s practically a post-workout beer!

Rock’n’Hops from Whiprsnapr is a 5.9% NEIPA hopped with Citra, Mosaic, Strata, Idaho 7, and Sabro. This one rocks and has lots of hops … I see what they did there. 😁 I get tart passion fruit and papaya on a soft, fluffy body. Deep notes of hop resin and notes of lime float in the background. It finishes earthy with traces of dank.

Happy Friday!

This 6.5% hazy IPA is delicious! Big OJ vibes for days! It’s grassy and soft with hints of fuzzy peach and a salad of tropical fruit underneath. The juiciness persists through the entire sip. I might need one for breakfast!

Sandcastle from Bicycle Craft Brewery is a 4.6% hazy pale ale hopped with Nectaron and Nelson Sauvin. A tasty pale ale that punched above its weight. It’s soft with layers of tropical and stone fruit. The finish is light and dry begs you to take that next sip.

Hazy Pale Ale from Avling, an easy drinking, 5.2% pale ale. It pours like liquid gold on the dock. I wasn’t fishing but I caught a good one here. Loads of citrus and tropical fruits on a light, soft base. I get hints of melon and grass as it finishes refreshingly dry.

Hypnosis from All My Friends is a 6.8% hazy IPA hopped with NZ Nelson, Freestyle Nelson, Freestyle Nelson Bliss, Eggers Nelson, and Nelson Hop Kief. If the weekend is fun it doesn’t bother you when it ends on a rainy note. Especially when it ends with a tasty beer! So dank and Nelson-y! It’s sticky and resiny with juicy citrus behind all those white wine / grape-y notes. A touch of Sprite and grapefruit zest pop in the background. It finishes resiny and dry.

Horney Hops & Bubbly Beats from Daft is a 6.5% NEIPA. Summer and cottage beers are the best! Especially when the beers are this good! I get tart passion fruit and pithy grapefruit with tropical notes playing back up. A gentle herbal finish begs you to take that next sip.

Ontario Summer from Bicycle Craft Brewery.

Happy Friday!

Summer seems to have finally hit its stride in eastern Ontario. So, what better way to celebrate than by diving right into an Ontario Summer! It’s a tasty 6.5% hazy IPA hopped with Nectaron, Nelson Sauvin, and Comet. I can tell by the aroma when I open that can that this is going to be a treat. The sip is dank and super juicy. I get huge citrus / tropical notes mixed with peach and tart passion fruit. A subtle grapefruit zestiness lies underneath. The end is dry, with an earthy / grassy feel. Amazing beer!

Juicin’ Fruit from Sawdust City is a 6.5% hazy IPA with fruit and features Simcoe, Mosaic, and Citra hops. I got my glass shined up and grabbed a can of Juicin’ Fruit. I took a sniff; poured it out … and the sip was soft and fruity with a tropical hop backbone and touch of sweetness. I guess you could say it … moved me. 😁
