Our fresh cut microgreens, seasonal greens and farm fresh produce will now be available at three wonderful markets this summer:
Thursdays from 4-7PM - Stittsville Market at The Barn (July 29, August 5 & 19, September 2, 16 & 30)
Saturdays from 8:30-12:30 - Almonte Farmers Market
Sundays from 9-2 - Richmond Village Ottawa Market (the market is moving to the corner of Huntley and Perth starting August 1!!)

Garlic scapes
Garlic scape pesto
Radishes
Microgreens (pea shoots, spicy mix or fresh & flavourful mix)
Seasonal greens (baby spinach, romaine or spring mix)
Sprouts (alfalfa or red clover)
🌟 GARLIC SCAPES are this week’s featured harvest item. 🌟
Garlic scapes are the tender, flavourful shoots that grow out of hard-neck varieties of garlic. Scapes are super versatile and can act as vegetable, aromatic, and even herb all in one delicious bite! 😋
Grab a handful at the Richmond Village Ottawa Market, tomorrow, or on Thursday at the Stittsville Market at The Barn & give one of these ideas a try:
1. Scape pesto (we will also have some available for purchase at the market this week)
2. Grilled scapes on the BBQ - the perfect addition to your Father’s Day dinner!
3. Scape hummus - scapes make a great alternative to garlic in your favourite hummus recipe
4. Compound butter with a little lemon and thyme - delicious on toasted bread
5. Use as a substitute for garlic in stir fries, side dishes, or marinades
Scape season only lasts a few weeks, so get ‘em before they’re gone!

Stittsville Market at The Barn is very happy to introduce two new and exciting vendors! The Covered Bridge Brewing Company Inc. and Stapledon Farm will be joining us starting tomorrow!
Come down, set yourself up for the weekend, and grab some awesome burgers from Ottawa Valley Farm to Fork, veggies for a side from Stapledon Farm, something cold and delicious to wash it all down with from The Covered Bridge Brewing Company Inc.. Then follow that up with desert like ice cream from Holmespun Ice Cream or sweet treats from Di's Creations!
And don't forget to say hi to all the other vendors there including another junior entrepreneur!! Stittsville has so many clever and driven young people!

These crisp flavour bombs are very versatile and can easily be incorporated into your diet in a variety of ways:

Stapledon Farms has been accepted into the 3YR GEO-O mentorship offered by the Canadian Organic Growers association. We are very excited for this opportunity to network with experienced organic farmers, get some business mentorship, and have support in our certified organic application.
