To be completely honest, at first, I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to have a baby shower this time around. Starting over 12 years later with baby number 6 is exhausting enough! But the question was how to throw a luxury-looking event without breaking the bank.
When you’re planning any party, three major things will absolutely eat up your budget: the venue, the decor, and the food. So, I decided to eliminate all three! ❌💰
Here is exactly how we did it:
1️⃣ The Venue ($0): Renting a hall can cost hundreds or thousands. Instead, we used our own backyard! If you saw my last video on our massive backyard reset, you know we’ve been working hard to get this space ready. With some deep cleaning and strategic planning for things like bugs and weather, it turned out to be the perfect, cozy setting.
2️⃣ The Decor (DIY & Thrifted): While this is what I do professionally, I want to encourage you that anyone can do this! Long before I ever had a decor company, I DIY’ed everything for my kids’ milestones with zero experience. The secret is time management, don’t do it all in one day. Take it step-by-step. I also did a quick run to Value Village and found incredible, brand-new cake stands and serveware to give the buffet table beautiful height!
3️⃣ The Food (Our Amazing Village): To save on heavy catering costs, I leaned on our incredible support system. Our family and friends pitched in, turning it into a beautiful two-course service where everyone contributed.
A backyard, some DIY dedication, and a village of loved ones are truly all you need to celebrate life’s most beautiful moments. ✨
And yes... we finally did our gender reveal! Are we tying the score with another boy, or are the girls keeping their massive lead? 🤫💙💖
