I need a new book to read!

Every time I crack a refreshing and crisp Storyteller Beverages lager, I’m reminded that I need a new book to dive into.

I recently finished Stephen King’s IT and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, so my reading list is suddenly looking pretty empty.

What should I read next? A page-turning horror novel? An epic fantasy adventure? A hidden gem that you couldn’t put down? I could always use some self help!

Drop your recommendations below… I’m ready for my next great story.

I spend a lot of time in my backyard with a good beer in hand, watching the trees sway in the wind and appreciating the quiet moments. It’s a reminder that great beer has a way of slowing us down and bringing us together.

That’s why I’m still bummed about the closure of Counterpoint Brewing Co . If we’d lived a little closer, it would have become one of our regular spots without question. The beer was consistently exceptional, but what really made the place special was Graeme and Kayla. They created more than a brewery—they created a space where everyone felt welcome.

The craft beer community is built on places like this, and every closure is a reminder of how fragile independent breweries can be.

If you have a brewery you love, support them. Grab a pint, buy some cans, bring a friend and load up on merch. You never know when your favourite brewery might be pouring its last beer.

I have absolutely no idea where Tortuga is.

What I do know is that I’m currently standing in my backyard, somewhere between the BBQ and the fire pit, sipping this delicious Tortuga IPA and feeling like I’ve traveled much farther than the 12 steps it took to get here.

No passport. No flights. No $18 airport beer.

Just a comfy chair, a little sunshine, and a beer that makes my backyard feel like a destination.

If anyone figures out where Tortuga actually is, let me know. Until then, I’ll be conducting further research from this exact spot. 🍻🏴‍☠️
