It’s just another Saturday…

I’ve been saving this beer for a pic idea or a real idea… something about my wife and I battling each other with canoe paddles. But after six hours of yardwork, I’m thirsty and I don’t have any canoe paddles. So here’s the first beer in grass pic of the year… maybe spring is finally here?!?

I felt like an IPA, but I also wanted something that was cold and crisp and refreshing. Paddle Battle West Coast Pilsner from was exactly what I wanted. As usual Nickel Brook knocks out of the park with this one, as they do with all their beers.

It’s May 16th…Lagwagon day! Which Instagram does not have this incredible song available. Crack a beer and blast your favourite punk band in celebration!

Happy National Caesar day! Who makes your favourite Caesar?

For us, we love the Caesar’s in Mount Brydges made with . But my second favourite Caesar is from Bar Canada at the D Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Everyone is flocking here for great beer!

Have a beer with me at Sparrow Brewing and Roasting Co. in Cambridge On.

Located in Hespeler village, It’s a rustic nest where beer, coffee and community all live together in perfect harmony. They roast all the coffee in house and it smells terrific, It’s a great spot for a coffee date or after work pints.

It seemed like everyone in the place was drinking their Rowdy Rurals Hazy IPA… but I’m and odd duck and went with a flight of more classic styles, I like their Vienna lager.

Some places are worth flocking to.. and Sparrow brewing is definitely one of them.

What did the nut say when it was chasing the other nut?

I’m a cashew

I feel like Something in the Water Brewing is really starting to stand out in Ontario for creative beers that balance bold ideas with flavours that actually work incredibly well together.

Case in point: Something Nutty — a crisp, refreshing Kölsch layered with subtle light roast coffee and hazelnut notes. You get the coffee, you get the hazelnut, but it still stays true to that classic clean and easy-drinking Kölsch profile.

“Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us why… you had to hide away for so long?”

This American-style wheat beer from Michigan’s is smooth, crisp, and bright enough to turn any cloudy day into patio weather… even if it’s only 12 degrees.

Bursting with refreshing citrus notes, a soft bready backbone, and just enough hop character to keep things interesting…this one drinks like sunshine in a glass. A style we don’t see enough of in Canada!

Kitchener style at Counterpoint Brewing!

Have a beer with me new location in Kitchener Ontario.

Their bright taproom features rotating local artists, live music and on the weekends I hear they fire up the hotdog roller and serve glizzies kitchener style, which is not actually style, but maybe it should be!

Graeme is the owner and brewmaster at Counterpoint and is always great to chat with. I’ve always loved the beer here and I think they deliver on all styles especially IPAs and dark beers, but today I was loving their Rockside Czech Style Amber Lager. The taplist will have something for everyone!
