Meet our new guardian Fozzie. He is a Great Pyrenees Maremma cross. At two years old he still has a puppy brain and he’s a bit of a goof! Generally, these dogs take two years to become reliable guardians, but it could take up to three years. We are working through his playfulness, but it will be well worth the time and the effort. We have issues with bears, coyotes, and rattle snakes - our guardian dogs need to be able to make decisions to keep their charges safe. These dogs have amazing instincts!
