WE’RE BACK, ARNPRIOR!! 🦬🔥

And this year… we’re bringing something NEW. 🙌

This Sunday, June 7, we are kicking off our FOURTH year attending the Arnprior Market — and for the very first time ever WE’RE SERVING HOT FOOD. 🔥

That’s right! Pulled bison on a bun is officially happening. 🍔 Slow-cooked, tender, flavour-packed bison piled onto a fresh bun (from Valley Buns) and served hot at the market. We’ve wanted to do this for a long time, and we are beyond excited to finally bring it to Arnprior this season.

You’ll find us downtown Arnprior from John St N to Rock Lane, from 9am to 2pm, and we’ll be attending once a month throughout the season!

We’ll also have frozen bison meat 🥩, ready-to-eat snacks, and farmers operating almost entirely on caffeine ☕️ and determination. 🤪

Honestly, we’re just excited to be back. Seeing familiar faces, chatting with the community, supporting local vendors, and getting back into market season is something we look forward to every year. ❤️

Come hungry. Come say hi 👋. Come help us celebrate the start of another market season.

And yes… the bison approved the menu. Mostly because nobody asked them. 😅🦬

This year is going to look a little different around here.
Instead of running ourselves in twelve directions every weekend, we’re putting more focus into the farm itself. 🦬🚜

Fence doesn’t build itself, posts don’t magically pound themselves into the ground, and somehow every project on the farm turns into three more. 🤪

Around here, outdoor work season is short, so we’re trying to make the most of it while the weather cooperates. That means fewer markets and events this year while we focus on infrastructure, improvements, and getting things done here at home. 💪

Don’t worry — you’ll still see us at some markets. Just not quite as many. We'll post confirmed market dates next.

But the farm? We’re always here. Unless we’ve gone for “just one quick parts run” that somehow takes half the day. 😁

We took a last minute trip up North today to visit with our friends at and pick up more fencing. 🙌

We’re getting closer to putting up more pasture fence around the farm. Now we just need more drill rod so we can get back to pounding posts and making progress again. 💪

It feels good seeing projects slowly come together, even if farming mostly consists of moving piles of supplies around and calling it productivity. 😂🌾

Today at White Pine Bison 🦬❤️

both mom and baby (heifer calve) are doing well.

There’s nothing quite like calving season on the farm — the quiet anticipation, the first shaky steps, and seeing a new generation join the herd.

Watching first-time mothers care for their calves never gets old, and #838 is already proving to be a calm and attentive mom.

Moments like this remind us why we love farm life so much.

Welcome to the herd, little one. We’re excited to watch you grow strong out on the pasture with the rest of the bison herd.

📣 VOLUNTEER HOURS OPPORTUNITY 📣

We’re looking for volunteers to help around the farm this season! 🌱🦬

This is a great opportunity for students who need volunteer hours for school while gaining hands-on experience in a real farm environment.

Tasks may include:• General farm clean-up• Gardening and outdoor work• Helping with events and projects• Light maintenance and organizing• Assisting with animal care duties (when appropriate)

⚠️ Safety is extremely important on the farm. Volunteers MUST come prepared with:• CSA-approved safety boots• Work gloves• Weather-appropriate outdoor clothing• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Farm work can be dirty, physical, and rewarding — no farm experience required, just a willingness to help!

If interested, please send us a message for more details, available dates, and volunteer hour information.

Please share with students looking to complete their community involvement hours this summer! ☀️

This little red dog came into the world this morning and officially brought our White Pine Bison herd to 5. #838 is the mother.

There's nothing quite like watching new life arrive on the pasture.

This is the heart of everything we do — raising bison the right way, on open land, in the Ottawa Valley.

Welcome to the herd, little one. 🌲

Real farm life isn’t always the picture-perfect sunsets and cute animal photos people see online. Sometimes it’s 16 hours without power after high winds take down hydro lines and being told it could be another 11 before it’s restored. 🌬️⚡

The generator has already been filled twice, and honestly at this point, it’s the hardest working thing on the farm. 😅

We’re incredibly grateful to have it though. The freezers are still running, most of the house is holding together, and our pets and livestock are all cared for — which is what matters most.

This is rural living in a nutshell. You learn pretty quickly that when the power goes out, the chores don’t stop. The animals still need feeding, water still needs pumping, fences still need checking, and somehow you suddenly become an expert in extension cord management. 🚜🔌
Still, we wouldn’t trade this life for anything. Even on days like this.

Massive thanks to the hydro crews out there battling the aftermath of yesterday’s winds and working long hours to get everyone back online safely. We appreciate you more than you know. 👏

Here's hoping we all get power back soon. 🤞
