What a great weekend at the Prince Albert Exhibition Summer Beef Show!

A big thank you to the PAEX Beef Show Committee for all the time and work that went into putting on another great show, as well as to the sponsors whose support helps make events like this possible. We truly appreciate everyone who works behind the scenes to support the cattle industry and its exhibitors.

We also want to give a huge thank you to our crew — Anthony, Ariel, Tyler, Jess, Sawyer, Blair and Emily. From getting cattle ready and keeping things running at the stalls to stepping in wherever needed, your hard work and dedication throughout the weekend did not go unnoticed. We couldn’t do this without you, and we’re very fortunate to have such a great group behind PJS!

✨A great start to our 2026 show season!

We kicked things off at the Perdue Agriculture Society Cattle Show on July 18, bringing a couple of calves, a couple of bred heifers, and our two-year-old Bull.

PJS Maximus 100M did exceptionally well being named Grand Champion – All Other Breeds Bull🏆Competing against some exceptional bulls from other breeds.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by PJS Speckle Park during the 20th Anniversary Forum & AGM Tour. We truly appreciated the visit and the opportunity to share our program.

It was great to tour the other great operations and connect with fellow breeders. A sincere thank you to the Canadian Speckle Park Association, the sponsors, and all of the host farms for putting on a fantastic event.

Join us as we celebrate 20 years of Speckle Park excellence with four days of fellowship, education, and unforgettable memories alongside breeders and enthusiasts from across the country.

Its AGM week in Saskatoon! CSPA members- please stay tuned to your inbox for a copy of the AGM handbook and a zoom link for the AGM Saturday morning beginning at 9:30 Saskatoon time.

Thursday- CJSPA National Show Move In and CSPA AGM Registration

Friday- Bus Tour beginning at Ravenworth Cattle Speckle Park with coffee and baked good, INC Cattle Company for lunch catered by Smokehaus. Afternoon tours- PJS Speckle Park and Highmark Stock Farm

Saturday- AGM starts at 9 am. Afternoon breakout sessions to follow.

So proud to watch our granddaughter Amelia and PJS Nelly in the show ring at the Prince Albert Regional 4-H Show this weekend!

Seeing Amelia’s confidence, knowledge, and passion grow is incredibly rewarding. Watching the next generation take pride in caring for and presenting our cattle reminds us why we love this industry.

We are proud of our eldest granddaughter for participating in her first year of 4-H. She gave her best efforts building confidence with cattle and being part of a great community, Canwood 4-H Beef Club. We will be counting down the days to next year’s events where she will show and sell her very own steer!

A large portion of our original herd purchase traces back to Morgan, which is why he has remained mostly unused and kept strictly as an emergency backup bull. His dam is an extremely productive female — a true milk machine that consistently raises top-performing calves year after year.

With pasture limitations and a stronger focus on maintaining a tight calving season moving forward, we simply won’t have the opportunity to fully utilize this outstanding young bull. We believe he has a tremendous amount to offer another program.

With breeding season wrapping up, we’re offering PJS 25K Kramer — a super solid bull from end to end. We’ve used him successfully every year, including the last two years in our fall breeding program.

Unfortunately, but also fortunately, we’ve retained a large number of his daughters, which limits our ability to continue using him moving forward. We truly feel he still has a lot to offer another program.
