I was so excited to find a couple sweet grass plants on sale at a greenhouse, and happy to see them return this Spring. I never realized they were a such a challenge. A lovely scent.

🐞 Happy National Insect Appreciation Day! 🦋 Insects play a vital role in our ecosystems as pollinators. Bees, butterflies, flies, beetles, and other species help pollinate many of the plants we rely on for food and healthy habitats.

Today, we celebrate their contributions and invite you to get involved through citizen science alongside insect enthusiasts across Canada!

Support local conservation by joining our Pollinator Paradise YXE iNaturalist project. By documenting pollinators in your area (not just in PPYXE gardens), you contribute valuable observations that help us better understand local species.

Learn more and join here:

New to iNaturalist? Here are some tips to get you started.
🌿Make sure you join the project so that you can add your observations!
🌿New or previous observations must then be manually added to the project.
🌿Don't forget to answer the prompt "On a native plant, yes, no or unknown? If you know the name of the plant please include it."
🌿This project is not limited to Pollinator Paradise YXE gardens. It is also open to observations made in other natural spaces in and around Saskatoon.
