With more rain this year the pasture is holding well and the calves are growing nicely. Here some pics from last afternoon check with a few commercial and purebred calves. We will have a nice selection available at weaning time in October. More pictures will follow

Not a good weather for haying but with this consistent amount of rain our grass is growing amazingly and cows and calves are looking great. We never had so much grass on our sandy pasture.

Checking cows in the evening, here a group with first calvers. Yes they are black and will bring hopefully a good pay check, but they are still Speckle Park, same genetics, same breed and all red at the hook. What a stupid market.

Both bulls are excellent build, straight legged with good feed, freely moving and with an exceptional temperament.

We used him straight on cows and never had a calf to pull from him. He gave us over the last years excellent calves, we kept several heifers from him and as we got this year mostly heifer calves and and want to keep some more, we have made the decision to put him on the market. He is semen tested, and actually breeding until end of July but could go earlier if someone really wants him.
He is homo black, homo polled and Myostatin carrier. Scrotal size 42 cm

Another bull out of a Royal Flesh daughter and sired by our home raised bull Fastlane, we still regret that we have sold him.
We manly have used him for the last three years on heifers and he consistently has produced smaller calves with a good gaining rate. He already has finished his breeding for calving in next February and is ready for a new job.

Our breeding season has started on June 4. A little later as planned due to the flooding.
All breeding groups are sorted and out on good green pasture.

Today we got the first group of our cows out on dry pasture.This side of our farm is a bitch in dry conditions but at the moment we are thankful for it. We had to push the cows through a flooded area and a group of calves didn’t want to cross and ran back to to winter pen. Took us a while to gather them all and unite with their moms.
Unfortunately all our pasture we use to the north is under water. Hope everybody else is doing well.
