NF Aurora — my heart horse.

All the way from Ireland to our ranch in Princeton, this beautiful mare found a place in my life that no other horse could fill.

I love the everyday moments with her just as much as the memories worth photographing. Seeing her out in the field, spending a little extra time beside her, and feeling grateful that she’s mine.

Breeding horses means looking ahead, making plans, and watching the next generation grow. But Aurora always reminds me to appreciate what’s right here.

There will be many horses I love in this lifetime. She will always be my Aurora. 🤍

Making heart horses is what I love to do to share this experience with others.

Happy 29th Birthday, Ericka! 🤎🎉

Today we’re celebrating someone who means so much to all of us at Ponderosa Ridge Ranch.

Ericka brings positive energy, a strong work ethic, and a team spirit that makes even the busiest days a little easier. There’s a lot that goes into keeping this ranch running, and having someone who cares about the horses, supports the people around her, and willingly jumps in wherever she’s needed means more than I can say.

I absolutely love having her here. Somewhere along the way, she became so much more than a hired hand—she became a friend and part of our family. Someone to share the hard work, the laughs, and all the little moments that make this life special.

Ericka, thank you for everything you do and the heart you put into it. You are appreciated far beyond the jobs you get done, and I hope you know how much you mean to us.

Here’s to 29 and a year filled with as much happiness as you bring to those around you! 🥂🐴

Rest in Paradise my brother
Shane Materi

It’s with a heavy heart Shane said goodbye to us the night of Oct 19. Still unsure why, but Shane’s struggles were not easy.
In 2024 he arrived at the hospital with an excruciating headache to later learn he had an aneurysm. He continued to get worse and also had a stroke but Shane is a fighter and by the mercy of God, started coming back to us.

With 9 years between us, Shane and I shared different stages of life, but some of my fondest memories are of when I was just young sitting on his lap watching and learning how to play video games (Atari)

You may have read about his love of animals and how we were similar that way, also both big headed and stubborn which we come by honestly from our father.

Even in 2024 when I went to visit him in the hospital (he doesn’t remember) he continued to ask me how my horses were since we were attending the Calgary Stampede and he wanted to ensure they had water.

His love continued and the following year he worked so hard to walk and talk again. He never complained but instead told me how blessed he was. We got closer over the past couple years and the countless messages and the visit he had to the ranch with his mom meant the world to me.
Shane continued to support me and make sure I knew how proud of me he was. Even spoke one day of coming to work at the ranch with me.

Lately he was not feeling as well he mentioned but pushed on. He was taken too soon.

My heart goes out to his mom, Evaline, his sister and his son along with the rest of his family in his passing. Gone, never forgotten.

Rest easy my brother. Xo love you. You and Magnum are back together now.

“Be a good memory to someone. Because someday, that’s all we have left… memories. Make today count. Smile at someone. Say the words you’ve been holding back. Forgive, even when it’s hard. Cherish the people who make life brighter.

You never know how much your actions might mean to someone else, how your kindness could become a memory they carry with them forever.

And when it’s all said and done, when the seconds have turned into years, may someone look back and remember the way you made them feel… loved, valued, seen. Because that’s what truly matters in the end.

SD Don’s Desire

Don was imported about 5-6 years ago now and has been such an asset to our program. SD The Don being her sire I love how this mare has kind eyes, and always throws foals better than herself. You can see the true cob in every foal she makes.

This year was no exception, SD Tornado and her made a stunning blue eyes c**t who was as hairy as a yak and super calm, and willing. He has since gone to his new home where he is loved and re-named, Cove.

Don is paired once again with Tornado and I’m keeping everything crossed for a filly that looks like Cove. So flashy!!

We have a big line-up and have some in-utero options available for the 2027 year. If you’re interested, send me a message!

NF Hana

Hana is back at it and winning over hearts with everyone who rides this big beauty. She is up for any task and along with her good looks is just as sweet.

Hana continues to produce outstanding foals and is bred once again to NF Woolly Mammoth’s Legacy for the 2027 year.

Hana is one of the first mares I purchased as part of my program and is one I will never let go. She is a big pillar and an easy keeper.

Keep an eye out on the line up we have for the 2027 season.

We only have a couple foals left from this season so don’t miss out on owning and being part of the PRR family.

Judge 🤎

Feather flying, dust rising, and a whole lot of presence. There’s something about watching this boy let loose that makes you stop and admire him.

Powerful enough to turn heads, gentle enough to carry our little boy. Two sides of Judge that make him so special to us.

We’ve also retained two of his beautiful fillies to carry on his legacy here at Ponderosa Ridge Ranch. A little piece of Judge’s future, while he enjoys his next chapter as Levi’s horse. 🤎
