❤️ QU'APPELLE... YOU HAVE SOME PRETTY BIG HEARTS! ❤️
195 MEALS IN ONE WEEK!! 🥹
When we launched our Neighbours Feeding Neighbours program just one week ago, we weren't quite sure what to expect.
We knew we had a community full of good people, but WOW... you have truly warmed our hearts!
In just ONE WEEK, thanks to the kindness and generosity of local businesses, community groups and individuals, we've been able to put an incredible 195 meals into our meal bank!
And here's the part that makes us smile the most...
❤️ Our very first meal has already found its way to someone who needed it.
That means we currently have 194 meals in the bank, ready for neighbours who might be going through a tough time, facing unexpected challenges or simply needing a little extra support.
To everyone who has reached out, donated, shared our posts, offered encouragement or helped spread the word — THANK YOU!
And another special thank you to Two Sisters With Brooms Cleaning, whose thoughtful idea started this whole thing. Look what you've inspired! ❤️
This is exactly what we hoped Neighbours Feeding Neighbours could become. Not just a meal program, but a little reminder that nobody has to face life's difficult moments alone.
❤️ LET'S ANSWER A FEW QUESTIONS!
We've had some great conversations over the past week, so we thought we'd answer a few questions about how the program works.
❓ Can I nominate myself?
YES! Absolutely! ❤️
Please don't feel that someone else needs to nominate you. If you're having a tough time and a meal would help, just let us know.
There is no shame in needing a little help. We've all had moments when life throws us a curveball.
❓ Is this program only for seniors?
Nope! While our seniors were the original inspiration behind this program and remain a priority, we also want to help other community members who find themselves in difficult situations.
Sometimes life gets hard, no matter your age.
❓ Do I have to be struggling financially to receive a meal?
Not necessarily.
Maybe you're dealing with an illness, recovering from surgery, grieving a loss, caring for a loved one or simply having a particularly difficult week.
Sometimes having one less thing to worry about can make all the difference.
❓ How do I nominate someone?
We have nomination ballots and a nomination box right here at Double TT.
You can also send us a private message through our Facebook Messenger.
And remember, you can nominate yourself too!
❓ Will everyone know if I receive a meal?
Absolutely not.
We understand that accepting help can sometimes feel uncomfortable, and the last thing we want is for anyone to feel embarrassed.
Nominations and meal recipients are kept private. We will never publicly identify someone receiving a meal without their permission.
This program is about kindness, not recognition.
❓ Is there a cost to receive a meal?
No. ❤️
Meals are generously sponsored by members of our community.
Each voucher is good for one individual meal OR one litre of soup from Double TT.
❓ Can I still contribute to the meal bank?
Of course!
Businesses, community groups, families and individuals are all welcome to contribute.
Every $10 donated adds another meal to the bank. Whether it's one meal or ten, every little bit of kindness adds up.
But please know that you don't need to donate money to be part of this. Simply looking out for your neighbours and helping us reach someone who could use a meal means just as much.
❤️ ONE LAST THING...
We want to remind everyone that this is a community program, built by neighbours, for neighbours.
We're not here to decide whose struggles are bigger or whose circumstances are more deserving.
Sometimes people are going through things we know absolutely nothing about.
And sometimes, a warm meal and a little kindness are exactly what someone needs.
We started this as a three-month trial, hoping we could make a small difference.
195 meals in seven days.
One meal already shared.
194 more opportunities to show someone that their community cares. ❤️
