One of my growing favourite fruit snacks is kiwi. It's sweet with a little bit of tartness and mouth-watering. Peel the kiwi and slice into 1/4" slices, and then dehydrate at 135°F (57°C) until the kiwi slices become dry and chewy with no remaining interior moisture. Takes about 7 hours (average).

If you’re planning food for your first multi-day trip, start simple.

A reliable trail food plan usually includes:

1. breakfast
2. lunch
3. dinner
4. snacks between meals
5. a small buffer for weather or longer hiking days

You don’t need complicated recipes to get started.

One of the easiest ways to reduce pack weight isn’t choosing lighter meals.

It’s choosing meals that share ingredients.

When multiple dinners use the same base ingredients, food planning becomes simpler and packing becomes more efficient.
