OFF MENU DAY 💙

The camp has thinned out quite a bit, and there weren't nearly as many people around as we've seen in previous weeks. We're not sure where everyone has gone, but we hope they're somewhere safe, warm and supported.

One thing we couldn't ignore was the garbage situation. The bins have been overflowing all week and desperately need to be emptied by the City.

As always, folks were grateful for the simple things, like a meal and a drink.

FEED THE FAM FOR $40: OLIVE GARDEN EDITION! 🫒

We grabbed their creamy Chicken & Gnocchi Soup, loaded with chicken, pillowy potato gnocchi and spinach, plus those ICONIC garlic breadsticks. 🥖🤤

And before anyone asks… YES, this actually fed FOUR people. Four full bellies, and our bank account didn't have to file a complaint. 😂

Because feeding your family shouldn't require a second mortgage.

Two chuck patties, Muenster cheese, garlic onion jam, arugula, garlic mayo + a Havarti bun brushed with garlic butter.

🪲 Critter Fritters $17.50
Fried mac & cheese bites with bacon, jalapeño, herbed parm + ghost pepper ranch. That dip was doing WORK.

🐍 Venom Eggs $8
Pickled devilled eggs with spicy chili filling, sesame, chili flakes + chives. Pickle and spice lovers… this one is for you.

And the potions:

💜 Witches Brew $9 single / $13 double
Blue curaçao, lemonade, soda + a purple gin float. My favourite of the night.

🕷️ Black Widow $9 single $13 double
Black raspberry liqueur, mezcal, ginger b**r, lime juice + simple syrup.

🧛‍♀️ Vampire Vacay 3 shots for $15
Malibu Coconut Rum + cherry wh***ey. Proceed accordingly. 😂

Today was the hardest Off Menu Day yet. 💔

We fed children and adults who are unhoused, and this one broke our hearts. Seeing kids in this situation is something we’re still trying to process.

A huge thank you to Eddy's BBQ for donating the pulled pork and chicken sandwiches, and to the anonymous donor from last week whose generosity helped us keep showing up today.

We can’t fix everything. But we can feed the person in front of us. And today, we did. 🫶

Can $40 feed a family of four at Trifon’s? 👀

We grabbed their boneless ribs deal for $36 before tax and this meal was stacked, boneless ribs, fries, four pieces of garlic toast, and a Caesar salad big enough to make us question who exactly they think “four people” are. 😂

This is what we mean when we say Feed the Fam for $40.

Big portions. Actual sides and nobodys fighting over the last three fries.

Where we spend matters. 🧡

Today took us to The Moose & Bannock for soup, bannock, and a little local love for an Indigenous-owned business.

On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour residential school Survivors, their families, and the children who never came home.

One meal is a small action. Listening, learning, and supporting Indigenous communities must continue beyond September 30th.

Off Menu Day. 🩷

Today’s lunch packs were loaded with a bologna sandwich, chips, pudding, a cheese string, a banana, and water.

A huge thank you to Lisa Kadler for her donation, and to an anonymous donor who gave an incredible $250!

Because of that generosity, we were able to add more food to every lunch pack AND hand out more than double the number of lunches we did last week. 😊

And the impact doesn’t stop today, part of that donation will also help fund our next Off Menu run next week.

Every dollar helps us put more food directly into the hands of the unhoused in Regina. Thank you to our community for showing up for OUR community. 🫶
