Today we’re romanticizing something that absolutely deserves its moment: Houston Pizza’s Caesar dressing.

This is not just salad dressing. This is a Regina food personality. It is creamy, garlicky, salty, tangy, and wildly addictive. It has that thick, clingy Caesar texture that coats anything you dip into it, with enough garlic and savoury flavour to make it stand out from the usual bottled stuff.

The best part is that you can buy it in a 32oz cup, which feels both excessive and completely correct.

This gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🍴 Fancy Fork Café & Bistro
📍 1845 Victoria Ave, Regina, SK

Today I checked out Fancy Fork Café & Bistro in Regina, and I’m still thinking about that Bistro Burger hours later.

I ordered the Bistro Burger with fries and gravy, plus the Cuban Sandwich with mushroom soup.
Let’s start with the fries and gravy because honestly? The gravy deserved its own moment. It was a lighter turkey-style gravy with a rich savoury flavour, buttery finish, and those cozy roasted notes that remind you of Thanksgiving dinner. Not super thick, but silky enough to get a thin coat on the fried. Absolutely drinkable.

Now the Bistro Burger? One of the best burgers I’ve had in Regina. This thing was massive. An 8 oz handmade patty cooked perfectly, seasoned with a smoky peppery crust on the outside while staying unbelievably juicy and tender inside. The beef literally melted in your mouth. The bacon added a salty crispness, the double cheddar brought that sharp creamy bite, and the mix of fresh onion and sautéed onion gave it both crunch and sweetness. Then the aioli tied everything together with this rich garlicky finish that made every bite feel indulgent.
It was messy in the best way possible. Had to be cut in half and squished down just to eat it.

The mushroom soup was clearly housemade. Earthy, warm, and loaded with that deep mushroom flavour that lingers after each spoonful. I personally would’ve liked it a little thicker and creamier to really push those rich notes, but it still tasted fresh and comforting.

The Cuban sandwich was also packed with flavour. The roasted pork was juicy and savoury, the salami and pepperoni added this smoky salty kick, and the melted mozzarella softened everything perfectly. Then the pickles came through with that sharp acidic crunch that cut through the richness, while the Dijon added a tangy bite on the finish. All pressed into warm artisan bread with a crisp golden exterior and soft centre.

Service was fast, friendly, and efficient, and the food came out surprisingly quick considering the portion sizes.

Food reviews are cute, but people are hungry.

Every week, I make and deliver meals to people living outside in Regina. This week was chicken noodle soup and sandwiches. No ratings, no review, just warm food and a little dignity.

I'll always talk about what’s worth the hype when you spend your money, but food is bigger than restaurants and reviews. Sometimes the most honest bite is the one you can share. 🫶

🍽️ The Brit Stop
📍 Rowans Ravine, Saskatchewan

The Brit Stop just opened today, and after one visit, I can already tell this place is going to become a regular stop for a lot of people heading to the lake.

The family behind it is British, local to the area, incredibly welcoming, and the owner even stopped by our table to chat with us during our meal. You can tell there’s genuine heart behind this place.

They also operate a food truck.

Before anything else, I started with the sausage rolls and they were good. Flaky pastry on the outside, warm, savoury sausage filling inside, just comfort food in roll.

I tried the Cottage Pie Jacket, the Big Ben Bangers & Beans Jacket, the Little Brit Burger with fries, and the Bakewell Black Cherry Cola.

First off… this soda?? SO good. The black cherry flavour was subtle, and the tiny hint of vanilla & cream made it ridiculously smooth. |$6.50|

Now let’s talk about this Little Brit Burger because this immediately earned a spot on my “Kids Meals, Adult Appetite” list. This was NOT a tiny burger. The homemade patty was thick, juicy, and well seasoned, topped with melty cheese and ketchup on a brioche bun, and it came with crispy fries. |$8.50|

The Cottage Pie Jacket was my favourite. (My family used to call it Shepherds pie). Here, they turned it into a loaded jacket potato situation with buttery potato underneath, rich cottage pie filling, melty cheese on top, and all the cozy comfort food vibes you want on a weekend like this. The only thing I’d personally add is just a little more of that gravy because I love things saucy. |$12.50|

The Big Ben Bangers & Beans Jacket was exactly that viral UK-style comfort food you always see online. Savoury baked Heinz beans, sliced sausages, fluffy potato and cheese. It’s hearty, cozy, and honestly perfect on a gloomy day like today. |$10.50|

Before we left, they sent us home with banana bread on the house… and unfortunately for me, it completely humbled my own banana bread skills.

For brand new ownership, with brand new menu items in Rowans, this was a really strong first impression. Great portions, fair pricing, genuinely kind owners, and menu items you really can’t get anywhere else.

If you’re heading out to the lake this summer, I highly recommend making the drive over and checking them out.

🍗 Jollibee
📍 2830 Quance St, Regina Sk.

I’ve been here several times now, and honestly… it always slaps.

Jollibee is ALWAYS busy, and there’s a very good reason why.

This time I ordered the Original Chicken Burger combo with spaghetti, chicken tenders, adobo rice, plus both the Peach Mango Pie and the Ube Pie.

The chicken burger is HUGE. The chicken itself is insanely crispy, perfectly seasoned, and honestly doesn’t even need toppings… but the umami mayo on the soft brioche bun takes it over the edge.

The spaghetti fully threw me off at first, but in a “wait… I need another bite immediately” kind of way. The sauce is sweet, topped with cheese and I was delighted to find chopped up hotdogs, somehow it works SO well. It honestly reminded me of childhood struggle meals with KD and wieners, but elevated. I’d absolutely order it again.

The chicken tenders were massive, crispy, and golden. The dipping sauce had that perfect mix of sweet, savory, and slightly tangy.

And the adobo rice? SO good. Savory, garlicky fried rice that I already know I’m craving again.

Dessert is alway on point, the Peach Mango Pie is sweet, flaky, crispy, and filled with real Philippine mangoes. The Ube Pie has this smooth purple yam filling that’s mildly sweet, creamy, and honestly so comforting.

Jollibee never disappoints. If you’re craving fast food chicken in Regina, this is absolutely your spot.
