Four evenings of exceptional European food to discover at The Italian Pantry in Cadboro Bay Village this October… commencing with our Thanksgiving Cheese Tasting tomorrow! Discover the story behind the ingredient - from chestnut leaf wrapped cheese to that coveted French butter and, one for the ages - our first balsamic tasting will round out the month. 5pm-7pm every Thursday in the village.

The cheddars have just begun to arrive for the holidays… First on the block AND on the menu at our Thanksgiving cheese tasting evening this Thursday at The Italian Pantry in Cadboro Bay Village (5pm-7pm). This traditional raw milk clothbound cheddar is a multi award winner (1st at the 2025 & 2026 British Cheese Awards) and an extraordinary example of what we do best (we being that English half of the operation!). The main body is rich, savoury and chock full of depth. Those rare blue veins are extraordinary, where the flavour of a beautiful blue meets a classic cheddar, and if you love both, these few scant wedges are for you (limited quantity). Avail at our kitchen shop tomorrow, at our Italian Pantry on Weds and sampling both the cheddar and the blue vein on Thursday in Cadboro Bay!

THE SANDWICH is officially back on the menu. M offers his Murgella burrata beauty on a regular basis however it is only when a fresh batch of his incredible pistachio pesto has been made, that THIS particular sandwich returns :)

Officially the absolute hands down favourite product out of our kitchen for the British half of the operation - roasted pistachio, fresh arugula, preserved lemon, grana and as his hand written recipe states ‘extra virgin de mis cojones’ (to the non-spanish speakers - that translates to a LOT!)

Available from 11am-3pm tomorrow, exclusively at our kitchen shop in Saanichton but that pesto is available in spades at both the kitchen and our Italian Pantry in Cadboro Bay Village. Oh, and it is focaccia Saturday - dunked in this verdant green deliciousness takes that already legendary bread to a brand new level ;)

This week OPENING HOURS… both of our sweet shops will be closed in respect of this Weds 30th September…

In conjunction with the mid-week holiday, we are taking a short 4 day break at The Italian Pantry which is closed today (Sunday) and on Weds. Our kitchen in Saanichton will be open on Tuesday 29th Sept (with sandwiches avail from 11am-3pm!) and both locations will be open as usual on Thursday 1st October from 10am 🤍

The gorgeous 𝒷𝓊𝒻𝒶𝓁𝑜𝓉𝓉𝑜 𝒷𝒾𝒶𝓃𝒸𝑜 𝒶𝓁 𝓅𝒾𝓈𝓉𝒶𝒸𝒸𝒽𝒾𝑜. A favourite of the opening week at our Italian Pantry in Cadboro Bay Village this past June, has just returned to both of our shops today 🤍💚 an indulgent triple cream buffalo brie with a decadent layer of pistachio running through. One not to be missed!

Today’s autumn equinox marks the official start of pasta season and in celebration, this firm favourite with its gorgeous unmatched texture has returned to our menu today! The long and lovely 𝓂𝒶𝒻𝒶𝓁𝒹𝑒… 🌾

Such an incredible surprise this past week as a customer mentioned we had the loveliest note in this month’s issue of YAM Magazine for our now two sweet shops - M and I are both delighted and humbled ~ it was most unexpected 🥰. As we have and will always say, grazie mille for your continuing love of our labour of love (for it truly is that for the both of us) thank you so very very much…
