There is a sterile, modern way of thinking that takes a living creature, turns it into a line item on a spreadsheet, isolates a problem within the data, and then sells the solution right back to us in a shiny new packet. Lately, the cow has found herself right in the crosshairs of this logic—viewed not as a grazing animal that builds topsoil and cycles fertility, but purely as an "emissions unit" and a climate liability.
