Good news! With the slightly warmer weather the chickens are producing more, eggs are not freezing in the coop and it’s warm enough to put them in the red cooler!

I truly appreciate your patience as I worked through this cold winter. In the summer I plan to add additional insulation so the future freezing weather won’t be as much as a problem.

Thank you again! As production increases with warmer weather and a few new additions to the flock, hopefully everyone’s egg needs are met.

Oh and I also deliver to Hockey Practice in Port 🏒

Hello All!

I have a shiny new egg cooler ( warmer?) out front of the white shop. It will keep the eggies from freezing as winter closes in. I will keep it stocked - currently have 7 dozen available. Thank you for supporting Sparta Roots and my hens!

These fluffy dinosaurs 🦖 are doing a great job eating bugs & old plants from the garden. This is why their yolks are so rich! 🍳

Hello all! I have started creaking cookie boxes, think of it as a tasting menu (or snacks for the drive home)

Information about my baking. I do not use gluten or dairy ( we have celiac / dairy free family members living in the house) but I do cook with all kids of nuts, seeds & eggs. If you have any questions about my baking please give me a call.

Trying Something New!

Sparta Roots has always been about keeping it close to home. As much as I’ve enjoyed sharing updates with a wider audience, my heart is right here—serving our local community from the roadside stand.
