The kitchen is my happy place.

It’s where I found myself after having a baby. I finally felt normal when I got in the kitchen postpartum.

Being in the kitchen is such a big part of my day for my family and now for my business.

To me, food is love. I love you if I’ve ever made something for you.

I am running this business solo. That means no hired help and *definitely* no AI. Oh, and you can forget about boxed mixes or pre-made icings. You won’t find those here either.

I do all the things and make sure that your order is hand crafted with attention to detail.

MENU DROP!

Here's what is being served up at The Mama Healing Hub Shop & Sip Event:

Mini Focaccia: 4" focaccia loaf that is chewy and finished off with olive oil + sea salt

Birthday Cake Sandwich Cookies: two funfetti sugar cookies sandwiched together with birthday cake buttercream

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies: gluten friendly (made with oat + almond flour) oatmeal cookies loaded with oats, chocolate chips, chocolate chunks that supports lactation for breastfeeding mamas

Our first event is on the horizon! Chel We Bake has SO much to do to prepare for it.

This event is much more than just selling some baked goods. It's our debut to the world, it's networking, it's connecting with customers.

Chel We Bake prioritizes a high quality experience for customers from start to finish. So much time, effort & detail has gone into every aspect of our table, the display, the menu and of course, the packaging. Spoiler alert: these things influence the price you see on our menu, too!

Chel. Thats me.

Thank you for travelling to the past with me this week. I wanted you to get to know me as a human, not just as the person who bakes your favourite goodies.

There has been so much life that's happened to me before .we.bake and I wanted you to see that.

To conclude our journey to the past, here are the most significant (chronological) moments in my adult life:
Bringing Arthur home
Being a dog mama to my two boys, Arthur & Alfred
Starting Alfred Counselling Services with Alfred
Getting married
Buying my first horse
Being pregnant
Becoming a mama
And, of course, opening .we.bake!

Thanks for being here. I can't wait to bake something for you!!!

Arthur!

Part of getting to know me is getting to know Arthur, too. You've met Alfred already but before Alfred, came Arthur.

The most adorable English Springer Spaniel puppy I brought home when I was fresh out of university and starting a new chapter in London, ON from Kingston, ON.

Arthur is 9 years old going on 2. He is such an excitable, loveable and cuddly little guy. He's the one who made me a "mama" first and I'll never forget that.

What a surreal experience it was to bring home my baby to meet Arthur. Watching the two of them become best buds has been the most amazing relationship to witness, especially as it evolves from scrunchy newborn to crawling baby to now walking + talking toddler.

Dogs really are the best, aren't they?

Since we're hanging out in the past this week, I had to share that significant career accomplishment I achieved in summer 2020.

After 1.5 years of counselling, I completed the required 150 hours of clinical supervision and *of course* I had to celebrate with photos and a cake!

All of these moments, accomplishments, and milestones have brought me to where I am today: a mother, a wife, a pop up bakery owner.

Don't forget what you accomplished even though it's no longer relevant.
