⚠️ ⚠️

A scary start to the morning for us. There are some serious bumps and bruises, but thankfully no broken bones.

While most people were asleep in the early hours, we were trying to move this momma and her newborn calf into the barn to protect the little one from the cold. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. Despite having been in the barn before, she became extremely aggressive—ramming the gate three times until it finally gave way.

Situations like this are a harsh reminder of how unpredictable livestock can be, especially during calving season. As a result, this cow won’t be staying on our farm—our safety has to come first.

We’re incredibly grateful that everyone walked away okay.

To all our fellow farmers in the thick of calving season—stay safe out there.
