Quite the week last week with our Chloe (and the rest of us) experiencing her first show with her 4H calf. We are very proud of her resilience and battling it out in a very talented senior showmanship class. She did awesome!

Her calf, Bokma Vector Triton Latsi P, was 2nd in a deep Winter Calf class at the Halifax County Exhibition. She is a Triton daughter of Comestar Parfect Latinet VG 89 Max.

The smile says it all.

Thank you to all the 4H leaders for making it a great year. We have great neighbours and a great community that welcomed us and helped us along the way. Pretty blessed. 😊

A cool story of what breeding cows is all about.....

Below is a picture of a heifer's genomics we are working in our breeding program, Bokma Johnboy Philina. As you can see, she is pretty unique in her profile, having such a high protein number followed along with adequate type. You never see this, and you may ask, "Ok Nick, how unique is this really???"

Well.... she is the only heifer in the WORLD, that has 98 protein and 8 for conformation. Studs have been in contact to work on matings with her, and this is where the story gets even cooler. A mating on her has resulted in the following genomics:

Her great grand mother is BOKMA WINDBROOK 1669 EX 92 7E 5*, Canadian Cow of the Year Nominee who made over 155,000 lifetime kgs. This is a truly unique pedigree that offers real outcross opportunities.
