Oswin may only be 9 months old, but he’s already proving to be a steady presence among the herd. Still very much in training, he’s learning the ropes of life as a livestock guardian dog and continues to impress us with his calm nature, attentiveness, and the way he watches over everyone. We couldn’t be prouder of the young dog he’s becoming, and we’re excited to see him grow into his important role here on the farm. 🐾🐶

🐐Tiny hooves, floppy ears, and baby goat zoomies everywhere around here lately!

We’ve officially welcomed 10 baby goats to the farm so far, and we still have 3 does left to kid! Kidding season isn’t over yet! 🐐

This year’s babies are already full of personality, and we’re loving watching them grow and thrive. We currently have 2 bucklings and 1 doeling available, and all 3 are registrable Nubians.

All available kids will leave:
✔️ Disbudded
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Well-socialized and handled regularly

We’re also proud to share that our herd recently completed annual health testing with excellent results:
✔️ Entire herd tested negative for CAE
✔️ Entire herd tested negative for Johne’s disease
✔️ Full herd wellness assessment completed by our veterinarian

Ventured to Saskatchewan for tack lockers, nesting boxes, Oswin’s new dog house, and to pick up our custom order plus a feeder from Affordable Livestock Equipment 🛻

Oswin, our livestock guardian dog in training, was absolutely exhausted from the long ride home but handled the whole trip like a champion for an 8 month old puppy 🐾💤

Update🐐

Our tiny doeling who arrived almost two weeks early is doing incredibly well. After spending over a week inside with us while we supported her with feedings and strength-building, she’s happily back out with her mom.

She’s growing stronger every day and is now sharing a pen with another doe and her two bucklings, where the three little ones spend their time playing together.

The part of farming people don’t always see 🤍🐐

Our doe delivered triplets almost two weeks early yesterday. Two were too underdeveloped and didn’t make it.

One little girl arrived alive tiny, weak, but fighting.

It was a long night of milking, syringe feeding colostrum, and holding her up so she could nurse because she isn’t strong enough to stand yet. Her mama has been incredible through it all.

For now, she’s inside with us since she can’t independently stand or nurse. It’s exhausting, but this is part of farming some things are simply out of our control.

Grateful mom is okay and grateful for one strong little fighter.
