We'll be at the last Market of the season tomorrow, with zucchini, chard, serrano peppers (HOT!), green tomatoes, AND sponge toffe and peanut brittle! :)

Last Kakabeka Farmers' Market of the season - this Saturday, Sept. 26! Come on out for LOCAL fresh veggies, fruits, APPLES, preserves, jewellery, soaps and more! We're at 4554 Hwy. 11/17, just south of Kakabeka, from 9:30 - 12:30 Saturday.

BearHaven doesn't have garlic in the Market this year ... but we're celebrating garlic season all the same! See you at Kakabeka Farmers' Market tomorrow! We have beets with the tops on! :)

Guess what there will be lots of a Kakabeka Farmers' Market tomorrow? LOCAL GARLIC! Several vendors will have their home-grown garlic for you. Mix and match. Buy to eat, buy to plant! Because, you know, whatever the situation - MORE GARLIC IS ALWAYS BETTER! 😁😁 Come see us at 4554 Hwy 11/17, tomorrow (Saturday) from 9:30 to 12:30.

Head out tomorrow morning to Kakabeka Farmers' Market: a fun, outdoor farmers' market that runs summer Saturdays, 9:30 - 12:30 at 4554 Hwy 11/17, just outside Kakabeka! 🌞😎
Highlights for tomorrow:
- Hofland Farms - returns from the valleys of Nolalu (no hail for 13 days!) with lots of zucchini, lettuce, dill, garlic, and a few other delectable vegetables
- Superior Honeyberries - frozen 1 and 2-pound haskaps (honeyberries) from their own farm on the shoulder of Candy Mountain, plus assorted yummy homemade jams
- The Gus Homestead - several unique varieties of cucumbers, pattypan squash, celery! (a new one for The Gus), green onions, hot peppers, the start of their heirloom tomato baskets, dried herbs
- Landale Farms - fresh-picked pickling cucumbers, zucchini, sweet Hungarian peppers, tomatoes, fresh garlic, cut dill and herb bunches. This week's feature GARLIC is an heirloom soft-neck variety named Kettle River known for it rich flavour and spice. Leejah will also have a new Asiatic Japanese garlic named Sakura, known for its mild refreshing garlic flavour, good for raw recipes. And of course, Landale's favourite garlic "Crème de La" which is creamy, buttery and hot.
- Henry Jantunen - fresh, summer veggies from the fertile farm fields of Gillies
- Bearhaven - fresh, crisp, yellow and green zucchinis, ruby-red Swiss chard, cucumbers, and their sought-after home-made sponge toffee & peanut brittle
- Shades of Lavender - scented hand-made soaps, and a limited supply of WILD BLUEBERRIES! Come early. $40 for a 3-litre basket.
- Note: Windy Sunshine Farm Boreal Berry Jam will be absent tomorrow

First pick of zucchinis for the Kakabeka Farmers' Market tomorrow! Couple of pickling cukes snuck in as well.

The wildfire smoke has caused the cancellation of this Saturday's Kakabeka Market. We will stay here and watch the zucchinis grow. Be safe, everybody! The stress from the smoke is insidious.

Unfortunately, the province's Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) for our area is currently at a 10+ danger out of 10, and this is predicted to persist at least until the end of Friday. We've made the decision to cancel the Market for Saturday, July 18. Please stay safe, and make plans to come see us on Saturday, July 25.

- My PTSD Bakery - apple pie, blueberry pie, garlic cheddar bread, caramels, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate strawberry pie, strawberry pie, banana cake, strawberry cake, scones, and peanut butter & jam cinnamon rolls
Our Herbs - garlic scapes: you know, those curly, garlicky stems you can only get in July!
- Bearhaven - famous sponge toffee! And they're watching to see if the zucchini will be ready by this evening (really!)

First Saturday Market of the year! See you tomorrow morning! We'll be there with sponge toffee and peanut brittle, plus perennial plants and a few nice tomato plants. Looking like just another week before our zucchini is available! Broccoli coming as well. 🙂 Then it will be cucumber time...
