Most people think Vietnamese pickles are supposed to be really sour... but that’s actually one of the biggest misconceptions about bánh mì.

Traditional đồ chua is quick-pickled, not heavily fermented. The goal isn’t to overpower the sandwich, it’s to add freshness, crunch, and just the right amount of tang to balance every bite.

So tell us... are you a regular pickle person or an extra pickles, please! kind of person?

When we opened & Bánh Mì, one thing I knew for sure was that our coffee had to feel just as authentic as our food.

Coffee has always been part of our family’s story. It’s something we grew up with, and being able to share it here in Toronto means more to us than most people realize. Every cup is brewed the traditional Vietnamese way using a phin, with beans from our family’s coffee roastery in Vietnam and the same care that’s been passed down through generations.

It’s a slower process, but that’s exactly the point. We hope that when you take your first sip, you’re not just tasting coffee, you’re experiencing a little piece of our family’s journey and the traditions we’re proud to share.
