Fast, cheap, delicious. This institution in Da’an district in Taipei is serving up the classic Taiwanese breakfast delights. You know it’s got to be tasty when locals queue up early in the morn’ and the OGs are prepping and cooking on the sidewalk next to the customer line. The omelet with Taiwanese style fried dough stick (you tiao) wrapped in sesame pancake was a revelation. And the price? $6 USD for two of us.

My official vote is in for the best calamari in Houston.

This is Truluck’s amazing version complete with lightly crusted rings along with shish*to peppers, slivers of red fresno peppers, thin slices of fried lime, sautéed Thai basil leaves tossed in a sweet chili glaze and topped with fresh green onions and served with a dynamite aioli and fresh lime wedge.

For the best experience you must have at least one bite with all the elements and allow the party to rock your tastebuds.

The coffee/bakery scene is strong, the Japanese food exquisite and be sure to catch sunset and drinks on the roof patio . Highlights of the trip: binchotan-fired crispy skinned black cod from the omakase .restaurant , deeply flavorful ramen bowls , pain au chocolat and oatmilk cappuccino , late night crispy roast pork .to
