The R.L. Allan Longprimer 53DG was a limited edition of only 50 copies released in 2014, crafted by the renowned B.J. Chant bindery in England, an era widely considered to be Allan’s finest.

We have created an homage to Allan’s limited edition 53DG Longprimer, maintaining identical specifications with the exception of the Bible block; we have substituted the 53 block with the Allan 44 Longprimer Thinline, which offers the same features in a slimmer profile.

We have endeavored to replicate the style and quality of the Chant edition by incorporating features such as 100% silk head and tailbands, alongside traditional Chant style spine hubs, precisely crafted corners and foldovers. The cover is crafted from soft, supple Italian goatskin, complemented by a purple lambskin liner, which provides a smooth and flexible feel.

A complete transformation for this Bible. 🙌
This 1940s King James Bible arrived with a well worn cover that needed to be replaced, along with several damaged pages. With a brand new Sokoto goatskin cover and the pages carefully restored and refreshed, this Bible is ready to once again bless the life of its happy owner.
