A family, their land, and a dedication to doing things right and looking to the future. It's a feeling that you can taste in the wines, see in the vineyard and hear in the conversations we've had since.

Cultivating connections is our EVERYTHING and we're unbelievably proud to be working with and for this family and welcoming them to ours. We have a feeling this is the beginning of something really special. 🤝🌿

✨️🌿 as Spring finally rolls into S. Ontario, here, at home, we're sharing pics from our Loire trip earlier this month.

Jordin spent time on the ground in Centre-Loire, tasting through one of France's most underrated regions. Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé you know. But Menetou-Salon, Quincy, Reuilly, Côte Giennoise?

Let's take a look:

🪨 **Four soil types. Four personalities.**
Flint (silex) brings smoke. Marl-limestone adds structure. Limestone keeps things lean and fresh. Sand goes fruit-forward. The result is wines that taste *different* vineyard to vineyard, village to village.

📜 **Not a new story, but a proven one.**
Sancerre and Quincy earned AOC status in 1936. Pouilly-Fumé and Reuilly in 1937. Some of the very first AOCs in France. Deep roots, long track record, history.

And then there is simply Spring in the 🌱🌦 but we'll let our photos speak for themselves.

We didn't just visit a winery. We got a private and very personal education in one of Italy's most legendary wine regions. 🍷🇮🇹

Post we made sure to head to in the heart of Tuscany where the incredible owner Emilia generously shared her time and expertise with Jordin and walked us through the 3 levels.

🍇 Every Chianti Classico is made from at least 80% Sangiovese, the soul of Tuscany!

Then there are the 3 levels of the pyramid:

1️⃣ Annata — the entry-level (you won't see this word on the label, just "Chianti Classico DOCG"). Aged a minimum of 12 months.

2️⃣ Riserva — more structured, more age-worthy. Minimum 24 months of aging, at least 3 in bottle. The kind of wine that makes you slow down and pay attention.

3️⃣ Gran Selezione — the crown jewel 👑 Introduced in 2014, this is the top of the pyramid. Estate-grown grapes only, minimum 30 months of aging, and every bottle must pass an official tasting panel before it's even certified. Wines that can evolve for 15–20+ years.

Emilia's passion for her land and her wines is something we'll carry with us. This is what Italian wine culture is all about: generosity, knowledge, and a glass that tells the story of a place.

A day we won't forget — May 12th in Toronto 🍷

Some days in this business just feel like everything clicking into place, and Tuesday was one of those days.

We kicked things off with a post-lunch meeting at the LCBO Head Office alongside Ruud Maasdam, the reknowned winemaker behind his new label, Parallel Universe. This was a portfolio introduction we've been excited about and, Ruud, it's a privilege to work alongside you and bring your wines to this market. 🙌

From there, we headed to the Liberty Grand for the afternoon trade session of the BBWO (Barolo and Barbaresco World Opening), making its Canadian debut right here in Toronto. What an event. An impressive showing of Piedmontese producers, and a room full of the kind of passion and knowledge that reminds you exactly why this industry is so special.

We were so happy to reconnect with producers we first met at Vinitaly, seeing familiar faces across continents never gets old. A special shoutout to three estates whose wines genuinely moved us:

🍇 Cascina Bongiovanni: precision and soul from the heart of Barolo
🍇 Sordo: a family legacy poured into every bottle
🍇 Angelo Negro: Roero elegance at its finest

Each of these producers brings something singular to the table, and together they represent exactly the kind of depth and story we love to champion.
We also soaked up some wonderful time with fellow trade and this community is something else!

And then — because the universe has a sense of timing — it was Jordin's birthday 🎂. So, we reunited with Ruud and headed to Grey Gardens in Toronto for an evening of great food, great company, and (obviously) great wine. The best kind of birthday celebration.

Here's to the people, the producers, and the bottles that make this work feel like a calling. Cheers! 🥂

Jordin is mid-way through a trade mission through the Centre-Loire wine region of France, hosted by Vins du Centre-Loire with one mission: find exceptional wines for the Canadian market.
