You're Invited to the Grand Opening of the Sisterhood Fibres Truro Pop-Up Shop!

Where: 10 Inglis Place Truro, Nova Scotia (above My Home Mercantile)
When: Saturday, January 20th from 1pm to 4pm

Let's get this Fibre Party started!

We'll have celebrations going on all day as well as opportunities for you to test drive wheels and looms! There will be 6 different fibre artists demonstrating their skills all afternoon, along with shop specials and Sisterhood. AND it wouldn't be a celebration without treats and Door Prizes!!!

The Truro location will be open from January 20th to April 30th and all our winter workshops will be hosted here.

Please join us in this kick off to the best, fibrey winter ever!! It's just the beginning of a wonderful season in Truro, exploring all things fibre with you!

Fitting in my North Country Cheviot in the wash whilst my custom processing dried on the racks. I ❤️ seeing how clean it is in its first soak!

On a roll making bedding in between custom orders. With the washer fixed things are moving along so much more smoothly.

This is the cleanest Down Breed wool for bedding that when washed is so bright and fluffy, it makes the best comforters. I may of course be biased!!

Hallelujah!!! The wool washing machine was finally fixed and all pipes, machine and hot water are now perfectly working!!!

Alpaca felt dying and me after working with the alpaca to make the felt! Never wear a fuzzy top when working with light flyaway Fibre is the moral to the story!

On another note I’ve got Fibre washed for some of you lovely people which is a good thing as I can work on picking and carding.

In the terrible cold weekend, my pipes into the mill froze, then we had a warm weekend and they thawed. With this flood of frozen water various pipes burst (4 different spots), 2 plumbers and 1 heating company and now Belfast Mini Mills Ltd are coming out to replace another cracked piece of equipment.

So will be a few days before I can wash. Thank you so much for your continued patience.

Happy New Year to you all! I was early now I’m late with the greetings but too many is not a bad thing!!

For the next 4-6 months the Mill is not taking any new fibre customers as it focuses on the current customer fibre in house.

I will update you in the coming months on the progress and offerings for the Mill and Fibre business Woolies of Upperbrook Farm.

In PEI there are 3 mills though not sure they do custom work:
Belfast Mini Mill, Belfast
Fleece and Harmony, Belfast

In NB
Briggs & Little Woolen Mills Ltd., Harvey
Legacy Lane Fibre Mill, Sussex

There are some home based businesses too such as Fert ‘n ‘Fibre in Musquodoboit. I expect there are others.
