Me, 5 years ago, putting the very first seed in the ground for my market garden business, and that is pure joy and excitement on my face for what was to come.
And now 5 full seasons under my belt. Starting from a 60 member CSA program in Plumas and branching out to Gladstone, neepawa, Minnedosa and Brandon!
Every year has brought its struggles - too dry, too wet, hoppers, potato bugs, etc..but so many wins - growing cauliflower for the first time this year, finding the perfect carrot variety, blight-free tomatoes AND most of all, building up a customer base of so many supportive people who want to buy local and believe in/value what I do!
So this Thanksgiving season I want to thank everyone who has supported me. I am so grateful for the last four years in the biz of growing chemical-free veggies and helping to feed so many awesome families.
So much has also changed over these last five years including our little one who joined us this summer. Running a business and raising a family can be a lot to juggle and my priorities have certainly shifted. I’m not sure what the future of Mad Dog Produce looks like but I’m grateful for what it has grown to and for all the help I had in getting here!
