We recently had the opportunity to visit Mucci Farms and get a behind-the-scenes look at how some of the fresh produce you see every day at Mercato is grown right here in our own backyard.
From greenhouse to grocery store, Mucci’s lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers are grown locally and delivered fresh to our stores, putting incredible Ontario produce on your table without travelling thousands of kilometres to get there.
Seeing the operation firsthand really puts into perspective the technology, care and hard work that goes into growing fresh produce on this scale, right here in Windsor-Essex.
At Mercato, supporting local isn’t just about putting a “local” sign on the shelf. It’s about knowing where our food comes from, building relationships with the people who grow it, and keeping more of what we eat connected to the community we call home.
