owner Michelle used to work in the technology industry but always had a passion for making pastries, travelling and photography.

She decided to leave a career in product management to pursue her passion and attend the world-renowned culinary school, ル・コルドン・ブルー・ジャパン Le Cordon Bleu Japan 👩‍🍳

After completing the Advanced French Patisserie Program, she moved back to Canada and started working as a pastry chef at a catering company.

Toffee Pop is an artisanal toffee company that offers customizable, handcrafted toffee made with premium ingredients to make flavours like spicy cranberry, orange creamsicle, and more 🍬

Founded in April 2024, Toffee Pop joined us at Coho Powell to scale their productions while maintaining high quality products with an artisanal touch. They're on a mission to infuse every bite with warmth, nostalgia, and the simple pleasure of life's sweetest moments.

Booster Scoops Protein Desserts makes High Protein Frozen Desserts that taste just like your favourite ice cream 🍨

Alex launched Booster Scoops this year as a way of combining his two favourite things: ice cream and working out 💪

With four inaugural flavours including Gorilla Vanilla, Chonkolate, Strawngberry, and Barbell Caramel, each pint contains 50 grams of protein while also being low in calories.

This summer we welcomed Booster Scoops Protein Desserts to the commissary community at Coho Powell 🤗

Owner Alex works the evening shift, coming to the kitchen to mix and package his protein ice cream after his 9-5 job during the week.

Being new to the food & beverage industry, Alex has felt supported by Coho's onboarding process, as well as the community within our shared kitchens.

"This was one step towards changing the dream of entrepreneurship into a reality. It's also a great opportunity to connect with other small food businesses and share our wisdom and experience, celebrate the victories, and get through the tough times together."

We are proud to partner with for the 4th year in a row. Flavours of Hope is a non-profit social enterprise that equips and empowers newcomer refugee and immigrant women to earn a liveable income and make an impact in their communities by growing their own food businesses 🚀

Every year, Flavours of Hope supports a handful of women to start their businesses through the Dream Cuisines program, offering support in marketing, budgeting, and getting them started with the Vancouver Farmers Markets. Through our community partnership, Coho provides a space in our commercial kitchens to these businesses every year 🧑‍🍳

Zahra prides herself in using traditional ingredients and simple recipes to create something special, like the finger foods she serves at catering events 🤏

Through , Zahra dreams of opening her own coffee shop where she can serve Iranian bread, cakes and cookies 💭

“You have to put in a lot of time. It helps to have the guidance of Flavours of Hope mentors with what forms to fill out, product pricing, and marketing. But going to markets will be the best experience and exposure so people can try your food and you can listen to their feedback.”

From adapting her recipes to scale for commercial kitchen equipment at Coho Powell, to creating new menu items that appeal to the vegan and gluten-free customers in Vancouver, Zahra has been quick to learn and pivot her business based on the evolving trends in Vancouver’s food scene 👩🏻‍🍳
