We are a small but busy seafood company in James Bay, Victoria BC, looking to fill a staff position. Starting wage is $21.00 per hour.
The core of our business is buying and selling live Dungeness crab and Atlantic lobsters. We deal directly with fishermen and lobster vendors and supply grocery and food service customers.

Duties include receiving crab and lobster, grading crab, claw banding, order picking, delivery work (locally, up island and the mainland) and live holding tank maintenance. Preferred applicants will have a clean driver's license abstract. Our schedule varies (no two days are the same around here) but generally speaking we take Sundays and Mondays off.

- Comfortable using a smartphone and has basic computer skills
- Self-motivated, responsible and punctual.
- Efficient time management.
- Ability to follow the direction of Supervisor / Dispatcher.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to drive in traffic
- An interest in learning how live seafood systems work and how to maintain and repair them

An onlooker watches as Shane and Ryan band up a load of beauty crabs today. Shane will be aboard Hi Gear tomorrow selling crab and lobster to his regulars and others. Go check it out at Fisherman's Wharf, Victoria.

A grade crab: $16 lb
B grade crab: $12 lb
1.0 and 1.5 lb lobster $20 lb

Shane, aka Crab Master Flash, was on the injured list last weekend do to a mishap at his Monday to Friday job. He has largely recovered so will be reprising his role aboard Hi-Gear tomorrow at Fisherman's Wharf in Victoria tomorrow and Sunday, 11 am to 4 pm.

He'll have A and B grade crabs at $15.00 and $11.00 lb respectively. Also available will be 1.0 lb and 1.5 lb live Atlantic lobsters at $19.00 lb.

Grab your cooler and go test his vast knowledge of all things crab and lobster.

Super looking weekend ahead. Shane will once again be on the Hi-Gear tomorrow starting at 11 a.m.. Prices are as good as they will get this year so make a plan.

We will be featuring B grade crab at a mere $11.00 lb. These guys are hard shelled and packed with meat but are missing a claw and/or a back leg or two. They weigh 1.5 to 2.0 lbs so cost $16.00-$22.00 each which is pretty good shopping!

Ryan and Hao hauling some crab cages up the ramp at the wharf today to our refrigerated truck. We waited until later in the day to let the tide fill because apparently gravity is a thing.

Shane will be manning the Hi-Gear at Fisherman's Wharf tomorrow and Sunday, selling both crab and Atlantic lobster.
