"Fairies' Cuisine" aims to facilitate the timeless flavour wealth of Anatolia by sha
ring traditional recipes as well as their modern interpretations. Eating has always been a social, spiritual, and therapeutic activity throughout Anatolian history. The first-ever cooking recipe was written by the Sumerians of Anatolia, as early as 3000 B.C. Continuous occupation by overlapping civilizations, reins of expansive and wealthy empires, and on-going diverse cultural interactions have lead to the cultivation of a rich and unique food culture in Anatolia. This sophisticated cuisine -practiced throughout Anatolia and the Mediterranean region- was influenced by many factors, such as its distinctly productive geography, diverse range of microclimates, and its practitioners -who have successfully shared with and learned from local and migrant cultures and religions from around the world. Lately, eating healthy and delicious food has become a life goal for many people. Turkish Cuisine provides an extended variety of healthy and tasty food recipes and preparation techniques via incorporating its cultural diversity and thousands-years-of-experience on cooking, cultivating and processing food. Through generations of experience and evolution, Turkish Cuisine has become a one-of-a-kind food culture in Anatolia, as well as in the surrounding regions. Recently, the peoples of Anatolia have been emigrating to and living in various unfamiliar climates and cultural environments around the world -as our family does... Hence, the recipes of Anatolian and Mediterranean cuisines are continually evolving in every Turkish kitchen, even though their roots remain tightly bound to their homeland and to the sea. My hope is that this page can properly introduce Turkish recipes to the people who are searching for exquisite flavour and healthy food. Wishing you “AFIYET OLSUN”, or "Enjoy", or "Bon appetite"!
